Purely White Gift

"As an 18 year old" Julian starts. "You must be responsible enough to take care of your new kitten!"
Julian and Aqua both pitched in money to get Amber what she's wanted since she was five years of age; a kitten. Amber wasn't allowed to have one in her childhood since her father was allergic.
"Awww, he's so adorable!!" Amber exclaimed.
"Isn't he? We chose the one we thought you'd like. You deserve this, Sweetheart!" Aqua proclaims, patting Amber on the head. Aqua and Amber have been best of friends since kindergarten, while they started hanging out with Julian in Freshman year of high school.
"You guys are just.... you guys are the best!!" Amber said cheerfully, hugging her two best friends. After the group hug, she picked up the male kitten. The kitten snuggled up against her hands as she picked him up and held him to her chest. The kitten was a purely white cat with a grayish-blue hue on the tip of his tail.
"I cannot thank you guys enough... for everything!" Amber anxiously tells the two.
"Don't sweat it. You've thanked us enough already." Julian says. "In any case, I have to get home and Aqua has basketball practice. Remember, our house tomorrow!"

The three said their goodbyes. Then, Julian and Aqua left Amber's apartment. Amber sat on her couch, the kitten jumping up and sitting on her lap. Amber smiles, and turns on her television. I wonder what's on today... she ponders. She clicked through the channels, deciding to just go on Netflix. Beforehand, she checks in on the news. Nothing new. She puts on some pony cartoon, and pets the small animal in her lap.
"Now, what should your name be? Hm..... Simon, perhaps?" Amber questions. The kitten purrs and snuggles with her in response. "Simon it is! Welp, welcome to your new home!"

After a few hours, she cooked up some chicken. She left some raw, and most cooked. She gave the pieces of raw chicken and a bit of cooked chicken to Simon to see which he liked better. Simon curiously sniffed all of them, and started eating the raw chicken first. He ate the cooked chicken as well, but not as quickly as the raw chicken.
"I'll be sure to try to give you different foods everyday. It's not fair that most kitties like you have to have one type of food," Amber cooed as she pet the adorable animal.

After Amber ate, she turned off all the lights and went to bed. Simon curled up around her neck, purring and falling asleep happily with his new owner.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Asher was getting staying up on his computer, finishing up some homework. While he works, he gets an email. Curiously, he clicks on the notification.
You have been invited to Amber's 18th birthday! But hush up- it's a secret! We hope you make it!
The party starts at 3:00 PM, but be there at 2:00 PM to help get the surprise ready!

Asher read the rest of the invite.
"RSVP at..... Hm... Should I go? It's strange. I thought Amber didn't like me." Asher thinks aloud, putting his pencil tip in his mouth. "It's quite tempting.... Ah, I'll go. The worst they'll do is kick me out, no biggie."
Asher texts the number to RSVP instead of calling, since he thinks they would be asleep.

After a few more hours of browsing, he finally decides to sleep at 2 AM. He fell asleep thinking of the party, and what to get Amber.
