Happy Birthday?

"AMBER!" Aqua shouted, hugging her best friend. Amber flinched, clutching Simon closer to her chest.
"H..hi..." Amber panted. Simon had his claws in her shirt, freaked out.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you guys." Aqua apologized. Amber reassured Aqua, and suddenly....

"SURPRISE!"

Everyone in hiding yelled out. Simon yelped and climbed up to Amber's shoulder, looking for protection. Amber, startled, fell back. She hit her head hard on the doorknob.

Everyone surrounded her, checking if she was okay. Amber looked up at them, and just laughed it off. Julian helped her up, laughing with her.
"Sorry, we forgot how skittish you are." Julian explained, trying to hold back all of his laughter.

Although, while they were all talking, someone dropped something with a loud thud. Amber, once again shocked, fell again. She didn't hit her head this time, lucky her.

However, right then a knocking sound emitted from the door.
"The door's unlocked!" Aqua yelled.

The door opened.
"Sorry, I lost track of time. I didn't mean to be la...." The man at the door spoke, before looking at Amber below him. "...happy birthday?"

"A-asher!?" Amber exclaimed, immediately getting up and handing Simon over to Julian.
"Indeed." Asher responded. Amber suddenly hugged him, leaving him shocked.
"I didn't expect to see you so soon ! I figured I wouldn't see you until Christmas break was over..!" Amber stated, overflowing with joy.

Aqua and Julian looked at each other. They both had the exact same thought. Amber still had a thing for Asher. Hard to think since Asher barely acknowledged her when highschool started.

"Aw, I wouldn't miss it!" Asher reassured, feeling a light blush cross his cheeks. He hugged her back, and they were both content with that. After a moment, Amber stopped to pick up Simon again. Though it was brief... Asher wished it hadn't ended. He throughly liked her warmth... her presence. He liked her. He's always wanted to tell her, but got too nervous and embarrassed since his friends would always tease or make fun of him. Although now, none of his friends were there to judge him. They didn't like Amber to begin with.

Asher awkwardly and goofily smiled at Amber, lovestruck. Amber didn't notice for a while, occupied with the guests and Simon. She throughly enjoyed herself, laughing along with everyone. She then gave her attention back to Asher. Simon had gone off to play with Julian. She smiled at him, and started walking towards him. Unluckily, she tripped on her shoelace, falling to her knees and hitting her head in the wall. (She hits her head a lot, just go with it.) Shocked, Asher quickly rushed to her side, checking if she was okay and helped her up.
"Agh...... my head....." Amber whined, in pain.
"I-is there anything I can do to help you?" Asher asked.

Aqua, taking advantage to the situation, remarked, "You could always kiss it better." Everyone stopped and stared at the two, then Aqua, then the two. Amber looked extremely embarrassed, and used her shirt to hide her face. Asher, however, stood there. Face completely flushed. He didn't know what to do.
"I-I dont- I don't think Amber-"

"Oh shut up!" Aqua snapped before Asher could object. "Don't pull that we're just friends charade!"

"A-Aqua..... can I talk to you in private...?" Amber weakly suggested.
