The Academy

Chapter 5

Staying in his class was a struggle. As I looked around the room I noticed the blank faces of those around me. They looked frozen in position the only emotion that I could see on their faces was the looks in their eyes. It was one of complete fear. I turn to see Mr. Blackshear and there is a look in his eyes that says he knows what is going on and he is enjoying every bit of it. There is a smirk on his face and when he turns to me and looks me directly in the eyes his eyes have a look of surprise. His face seems to fall a bit. I continue to look around and the light begins to leave the eyes of those around me. I enter into the mind of a girl who was right next to me named Mindy.

It is the exact same as when I looked into the eyes of Ms. Gobin and the sub except stronger. I looked around and saw Mindy standing  there with a look of complete fear and then she began to scream. She had no way to escape like I could have. The cold asseamed to actually be palpable. I watched as it spread up her body slowly moving into her mind. I pulled out of her mind and see that the same look she has is around the room. I know I need to do something.

I turn to Mr. Blackshear  and see a look of complete shock in his eyes. I thought he had known my power but maybe I was wrong. He spoke to me again but this time his eyes were red and there was a snarl to his words.

"I never knew that you would be so strong."

"I have ,many tricks" I say with more courage than I believe I have

he says, "Even with your maximum potential you can not beat me"

I feel an immediate attack. It hurts it feels like something is pounding and trying to get inside of me. I realize it is him and he is trying to breakthrough the barrier that surrounds my mind. I realize what he was trying to do. It appeared that with the other two it was used more as a defense when I attempted to enter into their mind but this, this was an outright attack. I had never had a migraine before but I realize nothing could compare to the pain that was suddenly pounding inside of my head. I attempted to fight but it was no use he soon would break through my barrier and there would be no defense I would end up  like my other classmates. He was strong and I didnt know what to do. I closed my eyes and receded to behind the wall protecting my mind. I could feeli his mind pushing its way inside of my mind. I fealt a crack through the wall  and it was like a dam had been broken he forced his way inside and there was nothing I could do.

I felt the cold begin to seep up my legs. I heard someone scream and the laugh of Mr. Blackshear radiated throughtout my mind. The cold spread further up my body. I finally couldn't take it any longer I didnt know what happened but it felt as if something inside of me had snapped.

"This isn't possible! You are not old enough!" Mr. Blackshear said this as he screamed

As I opened my eyes and looked around the room I realized that Mr. Blackshear had appeared to completey vanish. There were scorch marks on the walls and as I looked into the eyes of the other students and they were free. I assumed they would be happy that they were free but all that happened is that they looked at me with a look of fear. I look at Mindy and I see no fear only confusion.

Mr. Edwards runs into the room. He turns and looks directly at me as if knowing exactly what had happened.

"Come here Andrew and follow me" he said

I walk with him to his office and look around the room. And see pictures of large expanses of fields and see a building that seems like a mansion. There are pictures of students playing in the pictures. He walks in behind me and closes the door. He begins to speak and what he says shocks me to my very core.
