Tonight is the first girls night I've had with my best friend Momoi since we began High School. Momoi and I go to different schools because my Dad got promoted to a job that had us relocate to the Shutoku school district.
"Girls night?" Aomine Daiki used to query when we used to go to Teiko.
"What do you even do at a girls night?" Midorima Shintarou would always enquire.
"Can I come?"
"No Kise-kun, you are not a girl, therefore cannot go to a girls night." Kuroko Tetsuya would never not roll his eyes at Kise-kun's insane question.
Murakasibara would never really care much about mentions about a girls night. Nor would Akashi. But mainly Aomine-kun and Kise-kun would be interested.
"You just do girly things!" Momo-chan would always exclaim.
I'm pretty sure that the boys would always assume it was partying and drinking and having fun. Too bad that isn't what we would do. The day would start quite normally yet sweet and childishly with a trip to the mall and going to the cute shops that sell non essential yet sweet things. And then we bombard the candy shops, go home, watch reruns of ninja warrior and then cry at Marley & Me before talking about everything and anything under the sun.
I hope it will be like that today also, I really have missed girls night. When my family moved away it was much harder to meet up with Momo-chan! I've seen her at basketball games. She's usually in the stands too. We've watched our respective schools play but it's different when you're cheering for only one member of Teiko. It's like choosing a favourite! I'm ever so glad that my school hasn't yet competed against Momoi's school, since both of us would be on the courtside benches. Oh the perks of being the waterbottle and towel girl. Note the sarcasm.
I spot a pink haired girl rush toward me. This has to be Momoi. She finished school early and got out of club activities due to faking a stomach ache to meet up with me for this Friday afternoon, dawn of the girl's night. It's been so long.
"Aina-chaannn!" she exclaims, rushing toward me. The boys that are around are gwaking at my busty candyfloss haired friend.
"Momo-chaann!" I shriek in delight. The two of us embrace, both in school uniforms that rival each other.
"What's that uniform?" one lady in a grey formal pantsuit stage whispers to another woman in similar business attire.
"That's CLEARLY a Shutoku uniform." Of course it is, we're smack bang in the middle of the Shutoku school district!
I know that their eyes are on Momoi and I.
"I don't recognise those other uniforms. It's not that school Kaijo's is it?" the second lady enquires. I roll my eyes at them. It doesn't take a braniac to work out that our schools are far apart. I mentally grimace, the girls' uniform for Kaijo is nothing like Torou High School's uniforms!
"It's so great to see you Aina-chaan!" Satsuki Momoi puts her arm around my shoulder. I giggle.
"It's great to see you too Momo-chan." I nod in agreement.
"Shall we make our way toward the cute little mall of yours?" Momo-chan sniggers.
"I never said it was cute!" I protest with a bright smile. I've missed Momo-chan so much!
"No, that's true, but you did say that it was quiet."
"That I did say." I nod once. The two of us link arms and make our way toward the main roads that lead directly to the huge shopping centre.
The mall is small in size but has so many shops that I know Momo-chan will appreciate. And, to top things off, there's not a kimchi shop in sight.
A pastel blue shop has clearly caught the eyeof my closest friend. Her eyes are wide and shining.
