As the roses fall

But then the spotlight dies

And the sea runs dry

As the life he led for a crowd crumbles

He returns to another collapsing reality

But he never leaves the stage

Although he's no longer there

He's still acting

Awaiting the sound of applause

But the silence is deafening

And he feels so alone

Insecure without costumes

Unhinged without a script

Reflections become startling

He never knows what's inside

And life is unpredictable

Until the encore
