He tried to keep you out of the case as long as he could, it was harder than he thought it would be though. Chloe had noticed his familiarity with the victim and had demanded answers. Lucifer, although not lying, didn't exactly tell her the whole truth, choosing to simply to inform her that the poor man was your landlord.
"She seems to be involved in a lot of things lately." Chloe said.
Lucifer gave her a tight-lipped smile, trying not to show the worry he was actually feeling.
"It appears so doesn't it, she's having a rather unfortunate streak of bad luck as of late." Lucifer agreed.
Chloe flipped through her notes, frowning a little.
"Y/N was his only tenant, he didn't rent other properties."
Lucifer peered over at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Is there a question there Detective?"
She was silent for a moment, but he could clearly see the suspicion swimming in her eyes.
"No, I guess not."
Lucifer watched her walk away, his smile fading into a blank expression, as he watched the coroners take the body away.

Your eyes scanned the house in front of you, it wasn't large, but it wasn't small either. It seemed like a quaint little house, and far enough away from the busier part of the city that is put you at ease. Lucifer helped you out of the car, careful not to aggravate your tender wound.
"Why are we here again?" You questioned watching a man walk out of the house.
"As I've said before, my inquisitive little human, it's a surprise."
You pressed your lips together, a look of mistrust lingered in your eyes. Lucifer grabbed your arm gently, as if he was trying to reassure you that you were safe.
"Lucifer! Good to see you again!"
You leaned away from the overly cheerful man, his demeanor unsettled you. Your hand rested lightly over your stomach, subconsciously trying to protect it from any more harm. The man seemed to have just noticed you, and he turned his kind smile to you.
"Ah, this must be your lady friend you've told me about! My name is William but you can call me Will." He held out a hand for you to shake.
You did so, after a bit of hesitation on your end, you uttered your name with a bit of reluctance and Lucifer decided to step in.
"Well I suppose we should see the house, yes?"
Will nodded, leading the way. You followed, keeping your distance as Will told Lucifer all about the welcoming home. You had stopped paying attention, instead looking around while they talked.
"This is lovely, don't you agree my dear?"
They were both looking at you, awaiting an answer, although you weren't sure why your opinion mattered.
"It's nice, I like it a lot." You gave Will a small smile.
Lucifer clapped his hands together, turning to face Will, with a bright smile.
"Wonderful, she'll take it."
You were caught off guard by that, looking at him with wide eyes.
"I'll what?"
They didn't seem to hear you, already working out payments plans and agreements.
