I walk outside of the airport, with my bags, looking for my fathers car. I scan the entire parking lot and can't find my dad's blue 1993 Ford Mustang.

I wait there for maybe 5 minutes before I get my phone out and call my dad. It rings 4 times before he picks up.

"Hey, sweetie! I'm so sorry. I got caught at work, is there anyway you can hitch a ride?" He says, guilt laced in his voice. His accent was almost none existent.

"Yeah no problem, see you tonight," I say and hang up the phone.

My father got sick 2 years ago with bone cancer, and moved to America to be with my 2 older siblings, and he brought my 3 younger siblings with him. I decided to stay behind and live with my aunt in Britain until now.

I was originally gonna graduate from secondary school in Britain, but my father got worse and I wanted to be here. He is working his last few days, before he retires.

I open my phone and pull up a map. I put my address in and its a 37 minute walk. I sigh, knowing I have no other choice. I begin the walk to my house,

After 20 minutes I pass a school, with young kids playing in the back. I smile remembering how easy things were when I was 7.

I pick up my pace a bit, lugging all my things behind me.

Eventually after a long ass walk, that was very unnecessary if you ask me, but of course no one did.  I knock on the front door and wait.

My younger brother Dillon, who is 11 answers the door and gives me a weird look before pulling me into a tight hug, making me drop one of my bags.

"Hey bubba," I say looking down at him. I've always been close to my younger siblings, but when they left, we rarely ever spoke.

Dillon leads me in and shows me my bedroom, which is what they used as a guest bedroom. I put my bags down and sit on the bed, texting my dad that I got there.

I decide to unpack some things, like my clothes, school books, and some framed photos I have. I go out to find the living room.

I find it pretty easily, as the house is pretty small, and see my mom, a man about my moms age, and a pretty annoyed teenage boy.

I have to admit the boy was pretty attractive, and I'm assuming the other man was his father. I immediately notice the bottle of wine they are sharing.

My mom has been a drunk for almost 9 years. It has affected a lot and she used to lash out at my older sister, but she moved out, and then it was me. My older brother was kind of the golden boy so he never got disciplined,

I also notice my younger brother and sister, Farrell and Flynn, who are 15 and twins. They are on the couch across from where my mom is sitting. My younger sister notices me and she bops up and gives me a hug.

"I missed you," She excitedly says, turning all the attention to me. I also give my brother a hug, avoiding my mother. I can't talk to her, the day my family left she said words that hurt more than broken bones.

My mother coughs and gives me the 'don't mess this up'  look.

"Uhm, this is my middle daughter, Rosalynn. She is going to be going to the same school as Ric," She points out. My mothers accent has faded as well.

"I'm Anthony, I live next door. It's nice to meet you," He plasters a smile on his face and holds his hand out for me to shake.

"It's nice to meet you too," I say with my fakest voice and smile. Anthony's eyes widen at that. His son snickers. I turn on my heel and leave.

Listen, I know I shouldn't have acted like that to Anthony, he didn't deserve it. But it bothers me that my mom is acting like nothing happened, and like she's not a married woman.

I run upstairs to my new room and grab my phone and earbuds. I go outside, and start walking. I come across a small park with buildings places in the center of it. It's completely empty.

I find a tiny alley way between a couple of the buildings at the park. I lean against one of the walls.

I know alley ways are supposed to be really scary and all that, but I always feel more at peace whenever I'm alone. People talk to much. They always have so much to say, for no reason.

Sure, I think a lot of things, but I would never say them out loud.

I hear footsteps and I whip my head to the side, to see a tall guy, with a hoodie, and jeans on in the entry off the alley way.

"Who are you?" He asks.

"Rosa," I say.

"What are you doing here?" He asks, coming closer so I can see his features clearly. He was actually really attractive, and looked my age.

I shrug as a reply to his question and he smirks.

"You go to high school here?" He questions, I nod and he laughs, "I like you," he declares.

"Hey! Aidan what are you doing?" A male voice yells.

"Coming!" The boy, who I assume is Aidan says, "Bye, alley way girl," He takes off.
