"Nat?" James whined,
"Ugh!"I sighed, looking over at my brother "What is it?"
I was doing what I did best: sitting on the couch with a bowl of ice cream and watching TV. The only part I didn't like was that I was babysitting my 11 year old brother.
"I'm bored..."
"Here," I replied tossing him a 5 dollar bill, "Go buy something."
He walked out, a smug grin on his face. I knew he had gotten what he wanted but I didn't really care. I flicked through the TV channels trying to find something good to watch. God, there was so much trash on TV nowadays! My eyes scanned the different channels rejecting each of the shows. Suddenly something caught my eye, GROWING PAINS. I had never heard of that show before but I guess it was worth a shot? It wasn't like I had much else to watch. To my surprise it turned out to be this super funny sitcom about a family who have taken in a homeless boy and all about what they get up to. When it had finished I recorded the next few episodes. Sighing to myself I looked at the clock; 'I had better go upstairs.' I thought.

Why did my parents have to pick tonight to go out? The night before the new semester. I hadn't seen my best friend, Hennie, in ages because she had been at summer camp. Why did everyone have to go to stupid summer camp? It made summer so much more boring. Anyway enough of my ranting. I quickly showered and changed into a massive t-shirt I used to sleep in. Then I checked my phone and my facebook page; I had a text from mom...
"Make sure James is in bed by 9," It read "Love you xoxo :)". I glanced at the clock, it said 11.25. God!! I had been on facebook for longer that I thought. I quickly popped my head into James' room. He was asleep on the floor with his teenage mutant ninga turtles scattered around him.
"Oh God," I groaned "This might take a while."
I dragged a sleeping James across the floor to his bed. Luckily he was a skiny 11 year old and a VERY heavy sleeper. As soon as I had got him vaguely into bed I closed the door and sprinted back to my room. It was now 12.10 and my bedtime was 11.15, plus my parents would be back any minute! I leapt into bed and quickly switched off the light, but I must have been tired because I fell asleep before they got back.
