The room was silent and slightly cold, but nothing too out of order. Expect for the light that was coming through the window despite the late hour, but it was normal at this time of year for Aurora to appear in the sky. The room had two single, huge beds facing each other. In the one closer to the window, a young boy was lying, fast asleep. He was covered tightly in blue sheets and he breathed quietly, not even moving a bit. He had pale skin and shoulder-length hair with unnatural, green colour. The other bed was empty. The floor in the room squicked and just a moment later the boy's bed bent as someone grabbed its side and tried to pull themself up.
"Psst! Psst!" the person hissed. When no reaction came, they started climbing the bed. It was now clear that it was another boy. He had brown hair, blue eyes and despite the hour, he was wearing a cap. "Marvin!" he whispered as he reached the bed, patting the sleeping boy. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" he begged as he started to shake his bed.
"Ugh... Chase..." Marvin groaned, keeping his eyes closed. "Go back to sleep...!" he begged. Chase sighed.
"I just can't," he claimed as he dramatically fell onto his brother. "The sky's awake, so I'm awake, so we have to play!" he explained, turning and tossing like some drama queen.
"Go play by yourself," Marvin chuckled, pushing his brother off of himself. With a silent thud, Chase fell to the ground. He sat there for a moment just thinking before getting back up and jumping onto the bed, trying to get Marvin to open his eyes.
"Do you wanna build a snowman...?" he asked with a grin. Marvin opened his eyes and smirked.
Just a moment later Chase was dragging Marvin down the stairs, both of them smiling and giggling. The brown-haired boy put on his shoes before they left while his brother only bothered to take his red cape. Chase kept asking Marvin to hurry up, but they couldn't walk faster, so the only thing left to do was just hushing him. They didn't want parents finding them this late. They finally made it to a rather big room that was the main part of the castle with thrones at day, but at night it was turning into their playground. They swiftly closed the door behind themselves and ran to the middle of it to have enough space.
"Do the magic! Do the magic!" Chase chanted, to which Marvin smiled proudly, leaning over. He started spinning his hands around as light blue strings appeared on his wrists, looking like some shiny bracelets. They were only ever visible when he was using his powers. And now, a small snowball was forming between his hands. "Whoa..." Chase gasped, amazed just like every other time seeing his brother's magic.
"Ready?" Marvin asked, to which his brother nodded excitedly. The superpowered boy smirked and threw his hands in the air, sending the snowball flying to the ceiling before breaking into millions of little snowflakes. They softly started falling as the boys tried to catch them.
"This is amazing!" Chase laughed, holding his hands high and running around.
"Watch this!" Marvin called over, stomping on the ground and making it freeze under their feet. Chase laughed louder as he tried to keep his balance on the ice.
The next hour was a literal joy to both of them. The snow kept falling and the soft blue light coming from Marvin's wrists and neck, since another string formed there, was making the experience even more incredible. Somewhere in all of that, they decided to build a snowman, which wasn't unusual with their wide imagination. They made three balls and put one on another before Marvin somehow got ahold of a couple of sticks, a carrot and some coal. He made Chase sit on one of the thrones as he finished decorating their new friend. He even put his cape on the snowman's back. He then turned him around.
"Hi! My name's Jackie!" he made a funny voice and waved the snowman's arms around, encouraged by Chase's laughter. "I'm a superhero and I love warm hugs!" Marvin announced.
