The mysterious girl gestured for me to take her hand and pulled me up. I got a overwhelming smell of peppermint. I took a deep breath and brushed myself off, I waited for her reply. Instead of an answer from this girl I got a piece of paper placed gently into my right hand. I tilted my head in confusion.

"Hey..you didn't answer me!" I looked up at her. Her soft brown eyes seemed to pierce right through me and I opened the paper, she smiled with excitement,

My name is Wylic Greene, it's nice to meet you <3

"Well um.. It's nice to meet you to Wylic?" She nodded at my words. I turned around to face the sound of a snapping branch and turned back around to Wylic gone, "Wylic?"

I Shrugged my shoulders and began walking to my car. I took a deep breath, the night wasn't seeming normal anymore. I got into my car and started the engine. The car smelled of lilac from the in- scent I had placed in it the other day. I began pulling out of the parking spot and started heading home.

*****

For four nights my dreams have changed. Nightmare to dream. I'd be having a nightmare of a tall man killing me, but then it would suddenly change to  a dream of me swinging on the swings with Anna when her and I were younger. I'd be relieved but I was also terrified. I'm not a lucid dreamer. I cannot control my dreams whatsoever. I tried talking to my dad about it, but of course he had nothing to say about my problems that could possibly help me.

"Anna I'm not kidding." I said sternly. She smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Of course you're not. You always claim something is abnormal about a situation and then you find out your body is just reacting to something silly, Kara. Don't get worked up about it, okay?" She gave me a gentle hug and left me in my room by myself.  I plopped down onto my bed.

"Yeah....just reacting to something silly." I pulled my blanket over my head and closed my eyes. I

"And Kara..Mom said that she needs you to spend the night somewhere tonight, I'm having a friend spend the night." Anna whispered shutting the door. I rolled my eyes and sat up in my bed. Looks like I'm going to the hotel tonight.

I grabbed $160 from from a small drawer in my jewelry box and shoved it into my wallet. My dad stood in my doorway while I packed a bag with two nights worth of clothes and crossed his arms. Acting as if me spending a couple of nights in a hotel is completely my fault. I stood up and leaned against my dresser,

"Yes dad? Got any complaints for me today?"

"I do actually, why are you treating your step-mother with such disrespect? She's been nothing but loving to you and has tried to help support you all she can." I could see the sternness in his eyes and I laughed.

"Really? You've got to be fucking joking. I fucking give up, you're such an idiot dad. How-how have you not noticed for the past two years that she's been a bitch to me?!" I took a deep breath and felt the tears start to form in my eyes, "Why don't you ever believe me when I tell you that she's the one hurting me?..I'm exhausted..I'll be back in two days. You can talk to me when you decide not to be completely oblivious."
