Akira has never really gotten over her father getting captured by the humans, but she has tried to move on. She left her mother and brother behind to leave for Slough Creek with a male dispersal wolf named Loki. Loki knows about how Akira not being able to get over her father but he tries to cheer her up. There is multiple times that Akira doesn't want to do anything so Loki has to leave her at the den and bring her hares, the only thing he can easily bring back to the den. And the loss of her pup Holly did not help any with Akira's state of mind.
