My life is pretty normal. Both of my parents are together, I have an amazing boyfriend, I live in a big house and have tons of friends because i'm the most popular girl in sophomore class. My life can't get any better.
As I walked into my school my best friend came up to me as I struggled to open my locker. "Hey girly, where's your boyfriend?" she asked as she winked at me.
"Probably talking to the other football players," I tried to avoid the topic because Zoe, my best friend, seemed a little obsessed with him.
"Well, do you have any plans for after school? 'Cause we should totally hang out. You could even bring Alex." She responded in a flirtatious way.
"Yeah, he's busy, but we can hang out," I snapped at her, she just flipped her hair and went the opposite direction. I hate when she constantly asks about my boyfriend it's like she's obsessed with him. What if there's something going on? I continuously feel like Alex is hiding stuff from me.
The school day is long but I decide to head over to Zoe's house to apologize for the way I acted this morning. She was alone in the house and was in her bedroom. I creeped in trying to scare her. She screamed but didn't seem so happy to see me.
"Why are you even here? No one cares about you!" She yelled so loud my ears started ringing. " I can't believe you even show up around me."
"First off, you're the one that told me I could come over so why are you getting so mad at me?" As I yelled back a tall guy walked in the room with a towel rapped around his waist. Zoe's eyes just lit up and I just froze. I didn't know what to do.
"Why is she here? He questioned.
"I was invited," I paused "but I'll leave."
"Well, now your uninvited! So get out of my house!" She threw her pillow at me and it bounced off me to the guy and knocked the towel down. I ran out of the room not wanting to see anything.
I ran away and I heard her say stuff about me. I honestly never thought she would say the things she said. What did I do wrong? Who was that guy? Why after so many years of a friendship she didn't tell me?
When I got back home I got a text from Zoe saying 'Don't you dare tell anyone! I'm sick of your games! Don't even talk to me anymore!' I immediately broke down in tears. My best friend since kindergarten doesn't even want to talk to me anymore. None of this makes sense. We were fine during freshman year but over the summer she seemed to fade away like I wasn't apart of her life anymore. Zoe never texted me just to have a conversation, she always kept things short and wanted Alex to come along with us if we were to hang out but that was rare. I saw her slowly changing trying to become more like me but in a different way. The way she did her make up, the way she dressed, even the way she walked.
