As I sit nervously with my brother Ray and my mother, I notice that we me and my brother are about to live what we dreamed for our whole lives, getting drafted to the NBA. David Stern was up on the stage to call the first person to get drafted. "With the first pick of the 2018 draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select..... Marques Smith from Duke University" I got up with tears of joy as I hugged my mother."Oh my god I'm so proud of you my son" she said as she cried. I walked up to the stage and shook David Sterns hand as I got my Cleveland Cavalier hat. When I left the stage I met my mother backstage and waited for my brother to get drafted.
Raquan POV
"Key I got drafted to the Cavaliers man we're gonna be playing with each other" my brother said as I gave him a hug. In my head I saying I wish our father was here to see this he would be proud of me and my brother. When we left we dropped our mother off to the hotel, me and Marques was about to go celebrate. "Let's go celebrate Marques I thinking about going to this party by the Rockefeller Center you down? "Yeah I guess but we gotta be careful man I'm not trying to get drunk" I knew he didn't want to go but this was the biggest night of ours lives. As we go inside we see nothing but drinks and good looking girls. I already know what my night was gonna be like. " Marques, I'm gonna go and buy me a drink you want something" Raquan said anxiously. "No I'm good I'm just gonna go sit down and chill man "
Marques POV
As me and my brother split up I was just fascinated by all these women. As I'm walking I accidentally bumped into the lady knocking her drink all over her. "Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to spill your drink can I buy you another one" I said nervously. "No ok but thanks for asking" we looked at each other and there was an awkward silence. She was beautiful, I was nervous and didn't know what to say." No I insist it's the least I can do since I spill your" She giggled and said yes. I just stared at her after that, she looked beautiful in her purple dress. I think I want her but I don't know nothing about her." I'm sorry I didn't even introduce myself I'm Marques" she begin to smile. "Oh yeah you and your brother just got drafted in the NBA, my name is Precious by the way" I was blushing a little I felt kinda famous since she knew who I was. I brought the drink she wanted and that's when we started having a conversation.
Raquan POV
I went outside with my boy Andrew to get some fresh air. "Raquan you don't look so good man you can barely stand let me drive you home" I didn't even hear what he just said but I followed him to his car and he tossed me in the passages seat. Tonight was the best night of my life. I finally made it to the NBA, I wanted this basically my whole life and now it has come to reality. I will never forget this day.
Marques POV
"I see why they call you Precious, your beautiful, smart and you probably can sing" she laughed and started to blush. "That's really sweet and yes I can sing but I'm a nurse" I started to plot, I think I really like this girl but I don't she would want a basketball player. "You should come to my hotel maybe we can watch a movie or just chill" I said nervously. "Yeah sure why not" I was shocked that she said yes, but I was glad she agreed. I didn't see my brother so I guess he left early so I took his car. We finally made it to the hotel and we where picking out movies to watch. "You wanna watch beyond the lights" she smiled and nodded her head. When the movie started we where laying down on the bed eating popcorn."Do you like me Marques, guys only invite women they like them or having dinner" I began to plot again. " I will take that as a yes" she laughed and began to cuddle with me. I knew she like me to I just never asked her. We both ended up touching each other hand as we grabbed some more popcorn and we looked at each other. We were kissing passionately as if we loved each other. "Wait we can't do this I don't think I'm ready to have sex... I mean I'm still a virgin" she said as I stopped kissing her. "I understand I mean we just met and we shouldn't be doing this now" we stopped and started cuddling until we fell asleep.
