With lots of assistance from his alarm clock, Toby woke up extra early the next morning. He wanted to get there as early as possible so he could hike the first half of the trail before dark. He was gonna be up there for four days. He planned on hiking the first half the first day, and the second half on day two. Day three and four he would hike back down the trail, and meet his cab at seven a clock in the afternoon sharp. There was no parking anywhere around the trail, so he paid a taxi cab to drop him off. Then pick him up again in four days and at seven a clock on the forth day. Toby heard the taxi honking outside his window. Good thing he had packed all his stuff the night before, and it was all sitting neatly and nicely by the front door. Which he flew out of, grabbing his bags and throwing them over his back. But not before he grabbed his fully charged phone and laptop off his table. He was going to need some entertainment after all.

When he got to the cab, he put his stuff in the trunk. He got in the cab, and the driver already knew where to go. They started driving at roughly eleven. It didn't take long to get to Massachusetts, an hours drive tops. He hadn't got much sleep the night before, due to over thinking about Sarah. Over thinking about how he had screwed up, and how she would probably never like him. He'd wished he was more popular, more brave, more confident. He'd wished he was more like his friend Phillip. That aside, he put his earphones in and began counting trees, solely to put his mind on another task. He watched as they passed by to his left. One after the other, he counted eleven before his eyelids started getting heavy. It didn't take him long to realize he was tired, he stayed awake for as long as he could, which wasn't all that long. He'd had hopes that he could stay awake for the entire duration of the ride, so he could witness the scenery, but even he was beginning to doubt himself as he felt his eyes beginning to feel more comfortable closed than they did open. It wasn't long before he was sound asleep in the back of the cab. Neck arched back, head rested in that place between the window and the seat. One hand was in his lap, and the other still wrapped around his phone; which was still playing music that traveled all the way up through his cords and into his ears. He was truly gone to the world.

"Hey! - Hey kid wake up we're here!" The cab driver shouted at him from the front seat.

Toby could barely here him through the music, not only that but he was not fully conscious either. A rough tug woke him for real, all the music stopped too. At first he was confused, but then he figured out that the driver had plucked his earphones straight from his ears.  He jumped and opened his eyes. Then instinctively looked out the car window to see where he was. They were in front of what looked like an endless mountain. He could see the entrance signs, this was really the most beautiful hiking trails he'd ever seen. He shook his head as he'd just noticed, the trail was just as steep as it was beautiful. He got out of the car and headed straight to the back to get his stuff, which he would have to lug with him the whole time. Which would make the hike five times harder. He pulled a wrinkled eighty dollars out of his front blue jean pocket. Then he handed it to the cab driver.

"Thank you sir, ill give you the other half when you come back for me... Sir." He said respectfully.

His parents had tought him to always be respectful to everyone always.

"What you don't trust me?." the driver said.

Toby didn't know what to say. He paused, then thought about how he'd answer such a question.

"Calm yourself! Im just messing with ya!" The driver exclaimed followed by a stiff laugh. "I'll be back in four days kid! Seven PM sharp of day four!"

Toby nodded me and said okay. Then started to walk.

"Hey kid!" He heard a voice called out from behind him. "Seven PM sharp! I'm not gonna be waiting on ya, if you ain't here I'm leaving."
