Gwen looked at the clock in their living room. It was half past nine. Her parents had asked her to stay behind after dinner, while her siblings went to their rooms. It had been to talk to her because, the next day, she would be going to New Zealand to her uncle's place to complete her highschool and go to college there too. Her parents had deemed it fit that she would do so, and Gwen didn't know why.
Gwendolyn Norman - Gwen for short- is the only daughter and second born of Mr and Mrs Norman. She has two siblings, Liam - her elder brother - and Craig -her younger brother - Gwen was a beautiful young lady with a face adorned with baby blue eyes, a nose as cute as a button ,dimples and full pink lips. She had boys flocking around her in school and added to the fact that she was beautiful, she was the leader of her school's cheerleading team. Her hair is black, very straight and falls almost to her waist if loosened. She was blessed with gracious curves. Gwen was standing at five foot four.
She sat down patiently listening to her parents.
" Dear I hope you are taking what we are telling you seriously. We have our reasons for wanting you to complete your studies at your uncle's place. It's for your own good " Mrs Norman pointed out.
" I get it mom " Gwen replied. But what she had a hard time accepting was the fact that she was leaving everything behind, her friends, family, school...everything. It was painful. The first time her parents had told her about their plan, she had thrown a tantrum. She didn't eat or leave her room the next day. But, her parents had spoken and she had no other choice than to obey them.
" Good that you do. We only want what's best for you. And again, behave yourself there at your uncles place. Be of good character. I know that Evelyn and her children would be happy to have you stay with them, so don't give them a reason to regret their decision" Mr Norman sternly stated.
Gwen almost snorted at the mention of the name of her uncle's wife. As if. She hated Gwen for no just reason, and tried to make her children hate Gwen too, but she only succeeded in her first daughter - Brienna - and not her other two children . Her uncle had been transferred to Canada five months ago, but he comes home from time to time though. Unlike his wife, he doted on Gwen.

"Yes dad, I understand "

" Okay then go to bed, you have a long day ahead of you tomorrow"
Gwen got up, wished them goodnight, pecked them and went upstairs for her room.
"Am going to miss her " Mrs Norman said sadly later, snuggling close to her husband on their bed.
Mr Norman sighed and pecked her forehead "Me too dear, me too"

Gwen was placing the omelettes on the plates when her parents came down. Her father was dressed in a grey two piece suit with a white shirt, black tie and loafers, while her mom was dressed in a simple flowery gown. Her dad is a manager at one of the restaurants their company owns, while her mom owned a small but successful botique.

"Goodmorning mom, dad "
"Goodmorning dear" Her mom replying, coming to peck her before taking her seat at the dinning. Her dad just smiled at her, then continued reading the day's newspaper that was always delivered and placed on his side of the table.
When Gwen had finished setting the table and placing the food, her brothers weren't down yet, which betrayed the fact that they had been up almost all night. It was vacation after all, but tell that to their dad. Gwen smirked. Craig was so going to get it.
Two minutes later, the her brothers came down, lazily dragging their feet. To top it all off, Craig yawned. Uh-oh. When they got to the table, their dad didn't even allow their asses to rest on the chair before he started yelling at Craig. Liam was a grown up,he could sleep at 2 am if he wanted, he was in college after all, but Craig,he was only 12 years old.
After the warning and shouting, they said the grace and ate their breakfast. Gwen had woken up very early so that she would be able to bake a few treaties for her family. She announced it and watched amused as Liam and Craig all but raced to the kitchen to eat it. Gwen thanked God that she had packed their parents own separately. As they were both living, she gave them their packages. Her flight was an afternoon flight , so her mom would come back to drop her off at the airport.
Craig offered to clear the table and do the dishes. Gwen went to her room and cross checked everything, making sure she wasn't forgetting anything. She freshened up and lay on her bed, going through her phone. She heard a slight knock before Craig opened her door a little and asked if he could come in. Gwen nodded and he came in, but closed the door and stood there looking sadly at Gwen, who sighed and opened her arms. He moved into her arms and held her tight.
"God, am going to miss you" Gwen said warily.
Craig just held her tighter. After some minutes they released each other and smiled.
"I give Liam five minutes to come here" Craig said smugly.
"Oh really? How sure are you? "
Craig made himself comfortable by lying down on her bed.
"Well , when I walked past his room and he was looking sullen. I mean, didn't you notice that he hardly talked during breakfast, which is so unlike him."
Gwen looked at her little brother in awe. Of course she noticed it but chose to give him privacy.
"You are one clever and observant 12 year old. "
" Why thank you " Craig said smugly.
Gwen shook her head at her brother. But, five minutes later, Liam did come. Craig turned to her and gave her a look that purely said 'I told you so' and a self satisfied grin. Gwen rolled her eyes at him. Liam came and sat beside her.
"Hey"
"Hey " Gwen replied
" So em.. You will be going to your enemy's house today " Liam said in an attempt to make a joke. Gwen smiled. She knew he wanted to hug her and kiss her but, he would see it as been soft which he is but wouldn't want to show as he considered it as a sign of weakness, so she saved him the trouble by hugging him instead. He sighed and hugged her back.
" You know that if you get into any trouble that you can't tell mom and dad, you can tell me right? "
"Yeah" They released themselves and Gwen kissed him on the cheek. After that, they stayed together until her mom came back and they left. She saw her off and Gwen boarded the plane to New Zealand. When they reached their destination, Gwen left and in getting to the terminal ,she was engulfed in a bear hug by her aunt Evelyn's first born and only son -Ivan- who loved Gwen just as he loved his sisters to his mom's dismay.
He released Gwen and Gwen took him in. He was dressed in jeans and a fitted black polo with black boots. Gwen was not surprised by his dressing, he owned a motor repair shop. He also had on his bikers gloves. He rode a very sleek motorcycle that Gwen loved and his family feared. His brown hair was carelessly tousled, showing that he had been running his hands on it. His face was angular and sharp around the edges ,he was dangerously handsome giving out that bad boy vibe. His eye was amber, just like the rest of his family. He stood at a striking 6 foot five, with bulging muscles, which his polo couldn't even hide.
He took Gwen's duffel bag from her, leaving her with her backpack. They went outside and Gwen smirked as she saw his motorcycle parked and shiny with two helmets hanging on either side of the hand. It was new.
" Wow" Gwen breathed as she ran her hand over it.
"Nice" she complimented.
"Thanks" Ivan said with a proud glint in his eyes.
He got on , took one helmet and threw it to her, which she caught easily.
" Wanna go for a ride? "
Gwen grinned and hopped on, wearing her helmet.
" Hold on tight" Ivan said before he sped out onto the road. Gwen held him tightly and prepared herself to meet her fate. This was going to be one hell of a school year.
