Guy couldn't remember the past week, his brain was fried. He was making his way back to his dorm, when he thought to check his time. One minute, a single minute until he met the love I his life. He stopped at the intersection, thirty seconds left. Time was flying, his heart was pounding. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two. One. He looked around the intersection frantically, looking for the one he will love. He heard a scream from behind, met by a thud. Several cracks followed. He turned. Pain shot through his entire body. He collapsed. What he saw before him was the girl he would love, her body limp. A yellow car was splotched with red. He finally brought himself to look at her face, blood poured from her skull. She was dead. Guy passed out.
Guy woke up on a bed. He quickly looked at the numbers, hoping all that happened was a dream. 24 years, 8 months, 19 days. He knew what the numbers now meant. At first they were counting to the high of his life, now they're counting to the end. After all, death was the only way to be with her.
