My past has never been hard to talk about

My past has never been hard to talk about. The reason I'm a demon slayer has absolutely nothing  to do with demons. I guess I'll start at the Beginning, no?

My mother was a kind young woman, she was nice to everyone. How she ended with my father? I'll never know. My father was her complete opposite. He hated everyone. Always had some sort of frown on his face.

Anyway, my mother used to always put flowers in my hair, and once I was old enough I started to do the same to her. Every day, I'd sit beside her. We would each place a flower in our hair. It was like, tradition.

I kept doing that. Even as she got sick. I still would place a flower in her hair.
Eventually, she could not do the same.
Her arms and legs stopped working, and a year or so later so did her heart. My father didnt seem affected at all by my mothers death.

I wasn't surprised. And that was when  I ran into him. The master I mean. I was, well you could say lost. I had no purpose. No meaning. So he gave me an offer. One I could not refuse.

He offered a chance. A chance to start over again, how could I refuse? Such a lovely offer could not be wasted! So I took his hand, and walked onto a new path. One hopefully I would walk forever.

That's when I got it. From my now dead father. I got a sword. One that had been passed down through generations. With it came a breath style. And I now understood why my mother would put those flowers in my hair every day.

She knew. Knew I would walk this road. How? Another thing I'd never know. But when I left my little village by the mountain. I felt sad. Because of the boy I'd be leaving behind. Tanjiro. My best friend Tanjiro. He reminded me of my mother in some twisted way.

I'll miss him. A lot. More then I should. Guess I'll say goodbye.

I finally made it to the top of the mountain. Tanjiro's mother said he was in our usual spot. I nodded. And headed into the woods. I entered a small cave and I saw him.

"Your leaving?" He asked. I smiled. "Yea. But I'm sure I'll see you again Tanjiro." I said softly as I sat down on a rock. That's when I saw them, tears. "Tanjiro, are you crying?" You asked.

"Why? Why are you leaving me?" He asked. "I'll come back, dont I always come back?" I asked kindly. He sniffled. That's when I started disappearing. My body turning into bright red flower petals. He looked shocked.

"Goodbye, Tanjiro." Were my last words to him.
