-FENRIR-

"You smell kinda gross." She looks up at me. I just laugh, which makes my stomach hurt.

"I know, they're not letting me shower well until I'm out of the stitches."

"Come here," She gestures at my sink. "Get up on the counter."

"What?"

"I'm washing your hair because it's greasy." I follow her over to the counter and sit up on the granite.

"Are you sure?" I ask. She disappears into my bathroom and comes back with shampoo.

"Yeah, lean over." I lay back on the counter, my head over the sink. She flips the faucet to lettuce washing mode and douses my head in cold water.

"Nico, that's freezing," She grins above me, the expression is soft and gentle, yet a little competitive.

"And? You're the one that had me thinking that the showers only did ice-cold for half the season." I have to laugh at this, even though it hurts like hell, I have to laugh.

"It was funny." I grin. She turns it so it's a bit warmer and starts to soak all of my hair.

"It was horrible! Who are you kidding?" She's laughing and by god is it a relief to being mad all the time.

"Every morning you would turn it on right as I was brushing my teeth and the little 'agh' of the shower first hitting your back, made my morning every morning." I smile.

"You listened while I showered?" She splutters.

"No! No no, the walls are just really thin," I shrug. "It was hard not to listen."

"FENRIR!" She's laughing.

"That time you sang the entire discography of One Direction? God that made my whole month."

"Fenrir I can't believe you could hear me in the shower that's horrible." She leans over and sets her head on my chest, pink in the cheeks.

"Your singing voice isn't great, but,"

"Oh god, I know." She snorts.

"I'm tempted to ask why you know literally all the One Direction songs I knew," I respond.

"I'm tempted to ask why you knew those songs,"

"Alright, so I listened to one direction back in the day." I have to admit it, they were on the radio a lot.

"Alright, so I did too, but," She just starts laughing. "I can't believe you listened to One Direction."

"Man, I can't believe you did." I grin up at her. "You and boybands don't go together in my head."

"It was a team joke, we would blast One Direction in the locker room before games."

"Well, okay, but,"

"And yeah, maybe I listened to it outside of hockey, but,"

"There you go." I laugh. She's almost completely forgotten that she's got me on the counter to wash my hair, now she's just leaning on the granite and my hair is drying.
