I remember it like it was yesterday, we all do. I woke up to what I thought was going to a normal and uneventful day, getting dressed, eating eggs on toast, driving to work at my usual job as an IT specialist. I was about halfway across my driveway when I saw it. A slender shard of light sliding through the atmosphere. It stayed that way for a brief moment then it started growing, fast. In a short while it was a bulbous sphere, looming above us. I was transfixed as it spread out across the clouds, the sky, enveloping everything in its basking glow. It stretched out in ragged tentacles, reaching to the skyline in every direction. And then I was surrounded by light, In all directions it flowed into my conscience, and that's the last thing I remembered before The Flash. When I awoke it was a virtual hell. Some of us were lying on the ground, dead and bleeding. Others were like me and had just awoken to find the suburbs in utter chaos. But there were also these weird, grey creatures that seemed to be chasing survivors, but they were extremely slow and fat. There were other, smaller creatures with scaly black-green skin and menacing yellow eyes that were much faster. That was when I decided that the world had gone utterly psycho on me. At least I was in my car. I turn on the radio when I hear the call. "All survivors come to the nearest airport possible, we are evacuating, I repeat, we are evacuating" And that's when I hit it into top gear then started speeding down the highway.
