★ Chapter 1 ★

"And finally.. Byakuya and Makoto."

5 words.

Those 5 damned words.

He had always wanted to be friends with Byakuya, just like he was to the others, but the Affluent Progeny wouldn't allow it. He was cold hearted, harsh and mean towards others.

Shaking a little, he looked towards Byakuya, only to see a scowl on his face. Looks like he didn't want to be partners with him.

The whispering started soon after.

"Woah, Byakuya and bro together?"

"This doesn't seem like a good pairing.."

"Poor Naegi-kun!"

"I predict a 30% this will go bad."

The teacher glared at them, "let me finish talking!"

He cleared his throat. "Anyways, you all have assigned dorms for the rest of the semester. Starting tomorrow, you and your partner will stay together in one dorm together for this project. It has a bathroom, kitchen, and two beds," the bell rang, "anyways, see you all tomorrow."

As everyone packed their things, Makoto was thinking about life choices. Everyone seemed totally cool. Except for Toko- but besides that. Nothing weird or awkward, but just relaxed.

Byakuya headed out the door without another word. "W- wait, Byakuya!" Makoto yelled, running after Byakuya.

"What do you want, worthless plebian?" The blonde snarled, causing Makoto to shrink in fear a little. "I.. Just wanted to ask if you are okay with sharing a dorm with me!" Makoto yelled, clutching his bag to his chest and hiding the barely noticeable blush on his face.

"Course' I'm not okay with sharing a room with someone so low life like you." Byakuya spat. "Now, if you excuse me, I have places to be." He turned around and walked to his dorm. Makoto trailed behind slowly, not noticing Hajime next to him.

"Naegi, you ok?" Makoto looked up at Hajime, who had his bag on. "Er.. Not really. I got paired up with Byakuya." He scratched the back of his head.

"That must suck. I'm paired with Komaeda, that one guy with a Hope obsession." He sighed, "if I'm being honest, I hate this project. Especially since I'm paired with him."

"It's not that I hate it, but it's that out of everyone in my class, I'm with Byakuya. He doesn't even care about anyone!" He closed his eyes. "But that's Byakuya for you."

Hajime nodded, looking at him. "I'll probably text to you later, if that's ok." He nodded, and watched as Hajime walked away.
