They feared her, that much she knew. That's why they put her away in a cage like an animal, as if she would attack anything that moves.

Just because her wolf showed itself on the outside more so than others.

The ears and tail weren't scary, it was the sharper teeth, the sharper nails, the eyes.

They feared her because she always looked wild to them, as if she might turn on them at any moment. She was more wolf than human.

The guards were unnaturally quiet, which confused and frightened her, they would always talk and joke amongst themselves which would fill the jail with a comfortable noise.

But tonight it was so quiet, it filled her with unease.

"Hello?" Her voice carries out like a weak lost cry, falling upon deaf ears.

Her ears swivel atop her head, the fine hairs quivering as they search for a sound, a sign of life.

"Anyone? Here? Hello?" Her broken English is weak and timid, rising to her knees she cautiously scoots closer to the iron bars.

Gripping the cool metal bars in her hands she leans forward to press her face against them, peering out she squints and frowns.

The door at the end of the hall was left wide open, letting in the cool spring breeze, and she can see a patch of blue.

Her eyes widen at the brief glimpse of sky, that is blocked out suddenly by a mob of bodies.
