Long ago, in a magical land far far away there lived a king and his kingdom. He was a very joyful man who loved his subjects very much. Alas he was getting old, and he had no children of his own, which made him worry for the future of the home he had created.
Luckily though, his queen soon gave birth to a beautiful princess that would rule the land well after her parents were gone.
And her name was Marinette.
Kings and Queens from around the globe came to meet the new heir, bearing gifts and good will to the child and her new parents. One of these guests was Queen Emilie and her son Prince Adrien.
At the same moment, as if by a miracle, both King Tom and Queen Emilie had an idea in their heads. Princess Marinette and Prince Adrien would visit each other every summer in hopes they would fall in love and marry. This would bond their two kingdoms together for them both to rule.
And so, from that moment forward, Marinette and Adrien saw each other every summer and were told that one day, they'd be wed.
