"Sorry, I'm... too dedicated to my academics." My eyes flickered up to glance at his for a split second, and in consequence my heart skipped a beat to notice Noah's eyes sparkle as he studied me.
"You date Riley," he countered.
"With no attachments."
"But if you dated me it would be different?"
"Different as in I couldn't stand to look at you for more than 32 seconds?"
"That's not what your stare says every day I come in."
"Glad to know I'm the first person you look for upon your daily entrance."
"Glad to see you." he smiled softly.

Hey, I'm Brynn, and I'm so excited to begin writing again and dive back into the world of authors and readers. My brain's constantly coming up with new characters and different stories to tell, but this one's stuck with me and I've decided to run with it.
This novel is set to take place in Cross Hill, South Carolina, with an estimated population of about 600 and a lake named Lake Greenwood. While this location does indeed exist in America, I have no knowledge of what the town is actually like and have no intent of basing the book around the real life Cross Hill. I've just always been fascinated by the lifestyles and scenic nature views in South Carolina and wanted my characters to reside in a small town accompanied by a lake in the beautiful southern state.
