"Run."
I can't believe what I'm hearing.
"Run." He repeated; the whip idly in his hand.I'm free.
The crowd was screaming now.I can hear their mocking lauhghter even from the distance.
"You don't deserve this,"he added."None of you do.But you're the only one I can't let go.Everyone else has lost will to fight the system.Besides,if I let all of you go..." His voice trailed off.
I know what would happen."He" will never allow it.If everyone escapes, there will be more than just blood-sheding.There will be mass paranoia.
I nodded and looked at the executioner's eyes. There was pity----hopelessness;masked by the hard set of his mouth and the burrowing of his eyebrows. It will take a miracle to break the system.Breaking the system means breaking yourselves,I rememberes him saying. That tyrant.Torture as a means of entertainment, masking the innocent as criminals...
How disgusting.
And to think all of them can't even withstand themselves.I shuddered. The rich always get their way.
The executioner started to cut the loast rope that bound me.His name is Harris;not that anyone would dare to call him that.He is always the infamous executioner;feared by the townsfolk.Rumor has it that he tortures people for delight;going beyond what the higher-ups had orderes. Some say he sharpens the guillotine's blade everynight, when no one is out on the town square.
This is why I don't listen to rumors. They are never the truth.Even upon my capture,I have always believed that he never wanted this.He is just like any other man in this kingdom.
A victim of circumstance,they are.
Once the bonds were removed, he signaled me with a nod at the dark alleyway.Everyone is looking intently at the wagon;planted on the spot as they silently prayed for mercy. These are the one's who don't like the tyrant's way of "bringing justice".But they couldn't do anything about it.Their numbers are few and their courage is but a triffle. All they can to is hope.
Our wagon came back to a stop. The executioner opened the door as he hoisted a big burlap sack with him.I heard a collective gasp.He grunted as he threw the sack with all his might;plunging into the alley's darkness.
A few moments later,I heard the clopping of hooves fading in the distance.I went out of the loosely knotted sack as I looked at my surroundings.I landed squarely on heaps of hay, which told me well enough that the executioner is good with his aim,
"Thank you, Harris"I answered as I headed out to the alternative route towards the town square.

The screams grew even louder and louder. The jeers grew more intense. The king has yet to arrive, yet the cowd is brimming with excitement.
"KILL THEM!"
"SLAUGHTER THEM!
"LET THEM BURN IN HELL"
I pity the fools. They are clearly blinded.
Out of the corner of my eye,I saw a familiar figure wearing the same tattered clothes and an old cape;I figured it may be one of the relatives of those to be executed.I looked around me and realized how many townspeople have gatheres to see the execution. Many of them cried for blood, some even cried for mercy;a few were silent--not knowing that there is nothing they can do to stop this madness.I might as well be one of those few.
Eventually, the galloping grew louder and the crowd parted in twain. The King rode proudly as the crowd cheered.Following him was the executioner, riding the wagon filled with the accused..the wrong fully accused.
When the King sat down on the throne and looked wickedly at the bloodthirsty crowd,he stood up and bellowed:
"Let the execution commence!"as if this is just a game.
When the prisoner was brought in,many jeeres and threw stones at the poor man.In a blink of an eye,he was decapitated. The first day's of the blood was shed.
Among the crowd, the King saw me.His eyes burnes with hate,as if I had reminded him of a painful memory.Suddenly, his mouth twisted to a merciless smile and pointed at me.
"Capture that child,"he announced;his voice eerily calm."----for she has commited a crime far greater than treason."
I ran.The crowd shouted and threw rocks.Suddenly,I was pushed to a narrow alley. It was the same person I saw awhile ago.She has the same azure eyes and flowing raven hair. She immediately threw her cape at me and whispered.
"You're safe here."
I know her.My heart starts pounding as memories flashed through me---memories I thought I would never come back.I tried to speak but the guards grabbed her and took her to the platform.
No.My mind took in everything at once. The hatred in the King's eyes..the start of all this...I remember now.
No.The crowd jeered. The guards had her fastened to the guillotine.
No.With a flash of light,all is lost.
They killed my sister.
They killed the princess.
