Mara Carmichael. That name. Let's just say that it brings many bad memories, not of her but about her... including me.

"Do you know what even happened?" I asked Asher Carmichael, her brother. "She was suffering. You only added to it! You even called her weak! What kind of brother are you?! I told you to protect her from him. Did you forget? I couldn't be there since that scoundrel exiled me because he wanted another wife!" I was crying so hard that I almost lost my voice.

      "M-mother..." he stuttered.

"No. You replaced me, right? Go to that other woman. She's your mother now. You allowed her to hurt her. No. You allowed both of them. You didn't even try to appease them. You even agreed with them!"

He just dropped on the floor, guilt crawling across his back. He was now breaking down.

"I guess this is also my fault, right? I wasn't there for her. Why am I justifying myself? I'm just as guilty as all of you." I walked away from the scene. I need to be alone.

I believe all of us need it.
