Luna Ashlynn above.

She told me I was free. Sabrina and Ricardo were dead by my dead mother and father's spirits. Who knew?! She even showed me the video! Crazy! Tomorrow, I turn sixteen. It was a new chapter in my life. I was scared but excited. So far, I still hadn't uttered a sound. I didn't think my mind knew how. I went to bed. I slept on Ashlynn's couch so she had her bed. I woke up a little after midnight to a pain that made me think I was going to die. Pop. Pop. Pop. My bones were popping and cracking. I thought I knew pain before. That was nothing compared to this!

For the first time in thirteen years, I screamed. I mean, I truly screamed, noise and all. I couldn't stop screaming. Ashlynn jumped out of bed. She ran over to me. "Zion, what's going on?!" I couldn't answer. I kept screaming. It felt like I was on fire and every bone in my body felt like it was breaking and shifting. She scooped me up. Running, she called for Alicia. She placed me down on a bed. "FIX HIM! FIX MY DAMN MATE!"

Alicia laughed. "I can't. He's shifting. It hurts him this bad because he's so malnourished and fragile."

"HE'S SHIFTING?! HOLY SHIT! MY MATE'S SHIFTING!" There was no mistaking the excitement in her voice. If it hurt this bad, I never wanted to shift again. Suddenly, several people gasped. All my senses were heightened at once.

"Cover him with a blanket!"

"He's the rightful heir to the throne!"

"Hail Prince Zion!" I was bewildered. I looked down and gasped. I had four paws. I was white with golden-red tips. Holy shit!

Next I knew, I was naked and wrapped in a blanket. I was on Ashlynn's bed. I now knew I was truly a werewolf and that my voice did work. I wondered if that meant I could finally talk. I wasn't sure. I tried it. "Ashlynn?" It was faint, hoarse, and scratchy. Suddenly, there she was.

"Yes! You're talking! I knew you could!" I laughed.

"Mate!" I looked around.

"Who said that?" She looked confused.

"I did you idiot. I'm your wolf, Andrew."

"Wait, I can talk to you in my head?"

Andrew laughed. "Yup."

"Is there any way to shut you out?"

"Yup. But I won't tell you until you acknowledge Ashlynn as your destined mate."

"Okay. Ashlynn is my mate. What do I have to do to shut you up, Andrew?"

He laughed. "Just imagine a brick wall between you and me."

I did and it worked. "Are all werewolves able to talk to their wolf selves?"

Ashlynn laughed. "Yes. Wait, did you just acknowledge me as your mate?" I thought for a minute. Then I didn't think, I just acted. I pulled her in for a kiss that rocked my world. I kissed her softly, and she urgently responded, deepening the kiss. When she tried pulling back, I pulled her closer. She fit against me in every way possible. My wolf screamed for me to mark her.
