Mark and Donghyuck met when they were four. Both of them were chubby babies, throwing food at each other and stomping whenever the other didn't listen to them.
The two, obviously, didn't know what happened during that time - or to be honest, anything until they were twelve and able to understand what was going on - so whatever they learnt about that time was from the stories their parents told them or the pictures they had taken.
One of the pictures were of Donghyuck holding Mark's (who was crying his eyes out) cheeks, looking with a smug expression at the camera. After seeing that picture Mark questioned his parents why he was crying and practically getting squished by Donghyuck, and all they answered with was,
"He had called you soulmate and you didn't like it."
