Chapter 21

Calum's P.O.V


A bright flash of light pulled up next to me. It was too dark to make out what type of car it was, or who was driving. It was Ashton and I suddenly became relieved because it was starting to get dark outside. 
People told me about some muggings, but I wasn't really concerned about that. I just didn't want Michael to come and lead me to somewhere strange I know I'll regret. Ash pulled up by the curb and quoted Mean Girls and said "Get in loser, we're going shopping."


I started to laugh and opened the door to the passenger seat. Ash was yet again blasting more blink-182. He seemed to enjoy them more than expected. I hummed along until we reached and unfamiliar building. It was old but inside I saw a massive blob of people and red plastic cups.

This could only be one thing. A college party.


I'd never been to one before and was extremely nervous being underage then everyone else attending. Ash smiled and got out of his car. I followed his cue and trailed after him, like a lost puppy.


Girls were sitting on the porch steps eating throat and obviously drunk. Ash saw that I was worried, but I sucked up my fears and followed him inside to see two familiar faces. Jacky and Michael. 
I laughed at the thought of Luke's sister being at a party and him not. Michael was not as amusing due to the fact he enjoyed some liquors. Although he was to old enough, he looked as if he could be. Same for Ashton, but he was the closest to the actual drinking age than Luke or myself.


Ashton and I walked towards them and pushed the crowd of drunken teenagers and sat down with them. Jacky was sitting on Michael. I felt uncomfortable. Ash greeted a couple people and grabbed two red, shiny, plastic cups and gave me one. I was unsure if I should drink or not, but ended up doing so. 
The drink was a clear liquid and burned my throat. I assumed it was vodka. Michael took a sip of beer, and giggled when Jacky said something to him. I took another sip and my entire head felt the same burning sensation as my throat. Two girls approached Ash and I.


I was extremely nervous. This couldn't lead to anything good. Then in that moment I kissed her. The random girl from the party and felt like crying. I got up and went outside to the car. 
I messed up this time. A lot.

I sat in the car until Ash came back with Michael and Jacky. I felt absolutely embarrassed that I left. I also felt like crap because I kissed someone other than Isabelle when she was in a fucking Coma in the damn hospital. All three of them were laughing as they entered the car.

"Mate, you missed it. " Ash giggled as he poured some of the scotch in his cup. It wreaked and made me want to vomit. He then babbled about how the two girls, Jacky, Michael and himself were playing truth or dare. It ended up in Michael and Jacky making out and everyone seemed to be laughing but impressed. All i could think was "What is Luke going to say?"

I drove back to Ash's house because everyone was much too intoxicated and i didn’t want the police pulling Ashton over with a bunch of minors in his car. That would have ended terribly. I glanced over at the amount of fuel meter in the car. We had less than a gallon, and that wasn't enough to go back. Shit.

We stopped at the gas station and luckily had enough gas to drive there. I searched ash's car for any spare money. I had $20 and he had about $7.15. All in all we had enough to buy a few gallons to go back to his house. There however was a slight problem. Ashton.

"Mate, I love her honestly. She so beautiful and loves me even though I'm a douche bag. I’m going to call her or text her. " He said in between laughs filled with his scotch smelling breath. I was worried and tried to stop him, but it didn’t work she was already on the line. 

Michael and Jacky were awfully quiet in the back, and that’s when i realized they had fallen asleep with their hands intertwined. It was so cute i wanted to regurgitate. But, again i couldn't stop Michael from doing anything.  Especially when it came to women. He had already stolen mine. 

The phone was ringing and she eventually picked up the phone. God I was nervous for him. She answered by saying "Hi Ash what’s up?". She had no clue what shit was about to go down. 

"Kylie can i be serious." Ash started to say but giggled once again. I wanted to punch him if he giggled again. "Um. Sure Ash. Is everything okay?" She responded. 

"Kylie, I think you are the most beautiful. " He paused. "Talented, and amazing girl I’ve ever met and i honestly think about you all the time and I think i have fell in love with you." He finished. I was wondering if he was still as drunk as before. He seemed normal. 

Kylie stood quiet on the line. I could hear her breaths through the line. 

"Ash I love you too." she said almost crying. I know knew he was no longer drunk. How sweet of him. We. I wanted to puke again. I pulled the car over and got out frantically running. I then hunched over and vomited. It was the drink from the party. God how i hated them now. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and ran back towards the van. Ash was still on the phone with Kylie. When i sat down and revved the car. 

"She's coming over soon. Go faster Cal." Ash said throwing his fists down. I honked the horn of the car accidentally. Some eight year old gave me the finger. Ash laughed and Michael obviously awake, laughed as well. He continued to hold Jacky's hand. I had nothing left to puke so i continued to drive. 

I pulled up in Ash’s drive way and saw that Luke, Brin, Kylie and Spencer were waiting. I parked the car and Ash jumped out and ran towards Kylie. He then picked her up and dragged her inside. I assumed into his basement. Luke and Brin followed. Luke's hand was around her waist and Brin's hand around Luke's. I then opened the back door for Michael. He smirked when i opened and smiled down at Jacky. 

"Is she still sleeping?" I asked him trying to be as quiet as i could just incase she was in fact asleep. He nodded and i assumed it was a yes. The out of a sudden Jacky screams in my ear causing me to scream so loud that a few birds flew away. 

"Shit Jacky you scared me." I screamed at her, while she and Michael laughed so hard as if they were to pee their pants. God they were fucking messed up. We all entered Ash's house. I had seen his brother Harry as he went upstairs. His sister Lauren was in the kitchen with Avery. However, I hadn't seen her waiting outside. They must have been friends. 

I waved at Avery and walked downstairs with the others. They all looked at Michael and Jacky and Luke's jaw dropped to the floor. I guess he was in more shock than I was in because it wasn't too surprising to me that they were something i guess. I smiled and sat down. 

"Want to watch a movie guys?" Luke suggested as He put his arm once again around Brin. Ash and Kylie lay down on the floor, Michael and Jacky together as well and i was thinking of Isabelle. 

Everyone agreed to watch a beautiful kids movie about a lion cub that discovers himself when he leaves home but come back to realizes everything is gone. Basically the Disney version of Hamlet. I eventually fell asleep and saw that everyone else did as well.
