My name is Ajax. Well, that's what Wyatt, my wolf told me. Don't worry though, I'm not a crazy person that talks to animals. I mean, I kind of do, but not the way you would think. I am a wolf shifter or as you might know of me, a werewolf.
Don't be scared, I don't bite. Unless I'm hungry that is. I get hungry a lot. There isn't much to eat where I live. I move around from place to place, occasionally climbing a tree in human form to sleep and avoid predators.
My papa taught me to do that before he left. We were close but he didn't name me, I don't think, because he just called me boy or son all the time. I'm 5 now and it's just my wolf and me.
Currently, we are in human form sitting against a tree trunk. It is a little after midday and I have to shield my eyes to get a good look at the clouds. They are all white. Good. Out of nowhere, Wyatt starts to push to take control of our body.
"Ajax" He talks to me in my mind because that's where he stays, "Do you smell that?"
"What?" I question, smelling the air, suddenly fully aware of my surroundings. Rabbit. My stomach does happy flips and growls at the thought of having food tonight. My last meal was squirrel two days ago.
"Let me out! I wanna hunt! Please?"
I give him control and we shift. My wolf is the same age as me, except we age slightly different. At 5 years old, he is just a 6-month-old puppy. Also, we are both more mature than regular humans or wolves as we are the maturity of a 7-year-old human or a 7-month-old wolf.
We creep across the floor of the woods like papa used to do. I can clearly see the rabbit in the distance because of our heightened senses. He is full grown and I know this will be one heck of a fight. I crawl closer, careful not to make a sound. With only a yard or so between us, I pounce and attack.
I feel so free.
Sorry for such a short chapter. The others might not be very long either. Hope you enjoy it. Don't forget to vote and comment what you think.
