Callie's Story

Chapter 3

*Ring Ring Ring* my phone was going off as I was sitting at the desk in my room. "Hello?" I say when I answer the phone. "Hello? Callie? It's your mother we need to talk, are you busy?" I hear my mother say from the phone. " Not right now I'm just finishing up the last problem on my homework, what's wrong?" I ask hoping to just hear another I'm working late tonight so you can't come over for dinner as some sort of excuse for her having one of her boyfriends over. "It's about your father..." she paused " he sent me a letter.

It says "Hello love, didn't expect a letter from me huh. Well happy birthday, or should I say due date. Today is the 13th anniversary of the day I left. Before I left to "go get milk" I left you a letter saying that you need to send $20,000 to the league of villains over the next 13 years, yet you haven't sent a dime. We have decided to give you a two month extension since I still love Callie. If you had read the letter you would have known that if you don't send the money the league of villains will come and destroy everything you love, including our daughter. I've been keeping an eye on her and I've seen what she has been doing for you and how you have done nothing but lay around and drink. The money you send must come from you NOT OUR DAUGHTER! From your hero hunting husband, Debroy."

I look at this stund, my dad was actually there for me just... from a distance. He joined the league of villains and has been asking for $20,000 over the past 13 years. I can't believe it. *Knock knock knock* I hear on my door, "Come in Matoko." I say knowing it was him by the way they knocked. "You sure you're ok Kalico? You've been acting more odd lately. At least come with us to the 1A game night, everyone is there but you, it just wouldn't be the same without you." I realize that with all this stress it would probably be best if I joined. I call my bosses and say I won't be able to come in to work today because of too much stress with everything so I'd be taking the day off. The agreed and let me have some fun. I grabbed my purse and headed out to the common room. "Hey Calls! You came!" Yuna exclaimed when she saw me. She's called me Calls since 3rd grade. "And I brought candy" I say semi directed towards Yuki. We played Monopoly and Kasia won, (and of course, rubbed it in.) but I still had fun. They even made a box for the prison, which I thought was pretty clever.We also played some video games, We had plenty of fun but after awhile we all fell asleep, some in the common room, some in the dorms. We had fun that night and I got a lot more sleep than I do on any other night. Everyone had lots of food and I felt like we had some of the best times we've ever had.
