now, The red mountain are notoriously famous for being a terrible idea to climb. Legends say that you feel a presence watching you the higher you climb. No one had ever reached the top...
Yet...
Anyway, Let's get back to the story.
After I sent kasai in the direction of the mountain and he flew almost out of sight, I followed him. So kasai flew through the woods and the trees to the mountain. And though it took several days to make it in the cold, he finally got to the mountainside.
As the mountain loomed over kasai he was dumbfounded by its size. The red mountain was large and vast, yet kasai was confused. This looked like a regular mountain, so why was it named 'red'? He shrugged it off and flew onward. At this time it was slowly turning into springtime, and flowers were blooming alongside the mountain. But soon the flowers stop appearing the higher he climbed. And then...
A crack...
a snap...
Kasai turned around to look at whatever was making the noise.
Nothing was there...
He again shrugged it off and kept flying upward, but again...
Crack... snap...
He turned around and saw nothing again, now angered by this he yelled " what?! What do you want?! Show yourself!"
And this, now this was a mistake. Suddenly there was a blaring noise, so loud the ground shook. A huge creature appeared. This horrible looking being had the build of a bear with no eyes and a huge mouth with shiny silver teeth. A poylie.
The sight of this creature gave such a shock that kasai almost fell back down the mountain. The creature gave a hideous roar and charged at the bird. Kasai, having never learned combat, tried to defend by covering himself in his wings. The animal charged opening its mouth...
and closing it on the bird.
As the mouth of the beast closed on the bird, a sudden realization came to the birds head.
'Wait, if I can make my fire hotter I could burn it's mouth and maybe it would run away' thought kasai thinking proudly of himself. He focused his flame directly at the creature. The flame didn't even hit the creature before it ran away, scared of the fire, for it was used to the snowy environment. As the beast ran off, kasai flew with glee that he defeated that creature. But then he realized. 'Wait, was that thing what that old man was talking about wanting to meet me?'
Of course, he shrugged it off immediately, he thought that I saved his life still. That poor little idiotic bird.
As the bird climbed the mountain, the presence was gone, he thought he got rid of it for good.
That stupid bird.
So he climbed higher and higher, becoming more confident every flap of his wings. Though you know what they say, confidence killed the poylie. As the bird elevated up the mountain. He almost got to the top, when it hit. Not a snowflake or a hail storm. A gunshot, a singular gunshot.
Maybe a hunter, maybe a mercenary, no...
An assassin...
