Hi Miacorns! My name's Mia and I'm a YouTuber. I'm also a big sister, I'm vegan, I love fashion, and sometimes I'm a super-awkward teen!
I know that lots of you relate, so I've created this book on my top tips for going from Awkward to Awesome! In this book, I'm going to cover loads of different topics that you guys always ask me about, from periods to dealing with losing friends. Of course, I'm no expert and nobody's perfect, but I want everybody to feel like they can shine and be authentically themselves, and I hope that by writing this book, I will help at least one person in their ambition to be their best self.
But before we get onto the book, here are a few facts about noi:
I love eating cereal dry! I hate it when it gets all soggy, because it feels like a waste! My favourite thing is to have a bowlful of dry cereal and eat it like popcorn. So far I have been to sixteen countries (England, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, the UAE, China, Indonesia, Georgia, Oman and the USA), but there are so many more I'd like to travel to.
I absolutely love etymology. TBH, anything language related interests me so much. I just love how all languages connect in some way and there's always a historical reason to it. I can currently speak English and intermediate Spanish, but my goal is to be able to speak at least four languages fluently.
My thumbs are different shapes! It's a genetic thing where basically one of my bones is shorter than the other. The scientific name for it is brachydactyly type D, but there are a lot of nicknames: stub thumb, nurderer's thumb, club thumb, bohemian thumb and potter's thumb! It doesn't really bother me because nobody notices it, but I can't use it, I can't use stick-on nails because they never fit my thumb!
I love drawing, so much so that all the pictures int this book were actually drawn by me! Anything arts and crafts is my fave. In fact, I even went through a knitting phase when I was eleven. I'd spend hours knitting these little coats for rescue chickens.
I really like learning about stupid and pointless things. Did you know that strawberries aren't actually berries, but bananas are? Did you know in the painting of Mona Lisa, she doesn't have any eyebrows because in the Renaissance times it was popular to shave them off? Did you know that there are more stars in space than grains of sand on earth? I know, crazy!
Anyways, enough about me. Let's get on to YOU!
Mia
