ever since moving out of my stifling childhood home, where my mother and father were so obsessed with presenting themselves to others that they often forgot about my existence, I haven't wanted much.
my tiny one bedroom apartment, with it's cluster of emerald plants, the sinfully comfy mattress with a mountain of white sheets on the dark wooden floor and the tiny kitten that roamed the rooms were all I needed. all I wanted.
of course, that was until he came along.
him, with his clearly overly loved guitar, his doe-like eyes, his notebook that was never seen out of his hands.
him, with his mop of dark, messy hair, his deep raspy hum that elicited from his lips when he was writing, his small smile that adorned his face when he ordered his drink.
him.
I wasn't one to swoon over guys - I never had been - but there was something about this boy that intrigued me to the point where I couldn't take my eyes off him, leaning on the opposite side of the coffee shop counter and trying not to get caught as I watched him work.
I knew I had to talk to him at some point, to ask what his name was, to find out something about the boy that filled up so many of my jumbled up thoughts.
I just never knew that our first conversation would end up being... well, more of an argument.
I never knew I'd end up falling for the boy.
