Y/N POV

I was sitting in my desk, waiting for the final bell before Christmas break to ring, when I felt something hit my shoulder. I turned around saw Joe smiling at me so I tilted my head to the side. He pointed to the ground so I glanced down and realized there was a crumpled up piece of paper. I glanced at him once again before picking it up. I turned back around, so I was facing forward, before I opened it and immediately rolled my eyes and smiled. It read:

You're looking cute today ;)

Me and Joe have this really weird friendship. Everyone has thought we've been dating since middle school but we haven't. We're just really close friends. I grew up with him and Jason, literally our whole lives. They're a couple months older than me, and our parents have been friends almost their whole lives.

yeah I know :)

I wrote down on the paper before glancing up to make sure the teacher wasn't paying attention. She was on her phone, at her desk, so I quickly turned around before throwing the paper at Joe. He easily caught it before opening it. I noticed a smile form on his face before I turned back around and continued waiting for the bell to ring. A few moments later the bell rung, so I packed up my things before feeling an arm sling around my shoulders. "Why are you so weird?" Joe asked, while I started walking, and he still had his arm around me, walking next to me.

"Why are you so weird?" I mimicked, and he removed his arm before shrugging his shoulders.

"I don't know. Why are you friends with me?" He asked, before heading his separate way to his own locker.

"I don't know!" I yelled, joking around, while I grabbed my book bag out of my locker. I turned to see Josh at his locker next mine.

"You good?" Josh asked, slinging his book bag over his shoulder.

"Yeah." I mumbled, while he closed his locker.

"You guys hanging out together after school?" Payton asked, walking over to us with his book bag slung over his shoulders.

"I don't know. She's in a mood." Josh said, earning a elbow in the ribs from me.

"I am not." I said, while he instantly grabbed for where I elbowed him.

"She's definitely is." Payton said, chuckling a little.

"She is what?" Maverick asked, walking over towards us with Cash next to him.

"Y/n's in a mood." Payton said, making me hit him on the back of his head.

"No I'm not!" I exclaimed, while all the boys started laughing and Payton rubbed his head.

"You're not what?" Sam asked, walking over to us now too.

"Nothing." I said, glaring at Cash and Maverick. Cash put his hands up in defense, while Maverick scratches the back of his neck.

"She's... in a mood." Maverick mumbled, while Sam looked at me.

"I am not!" I said, turning on my heels and walking away. Although I've been friends with the Waud twins my whole life it hasn't been like that with the other boys, although it may seem that way. I met Sam in preschool through Joe and Jason since they became friends. I became friends with Josh and Payton in kindergarten. But not through Joe and Jason, they actually met each other through me. I met Cash in third grade. Maverick was in 5th grade when I met Cash but I get along with him the same.
