The old courtyard
Early evening"Why you not go into the room?" Yujin asked a flustered Olivia. Although her English wasn't the best she tried really hard to communicate with the older girl. Excited to be her friend.
"Because I didn't know what to say."
"You could have told him your name. At least," Wonyoung states. It seemed clear to her that the older girl felt some type of way about this boy. Whoever he was. It was the only thing she was talking about.
Olivia anxiously bit her lip. Sat on one of the tables outside. A small breeze.
Maybe she should have walked and introduced herself. She might never listen to that song again. But more importantly, she might never get another chance to meet that boy. And for some odd reason that thought sent a pang of regret to her heart.
"You can see him tomorrow," Yujin says with excitement. "Same place." Her eyes shown brightly. She enjoyed the idea of a mysterious romance with a stranger.
Even though her friend didn't meet him she liked his song and that was as good of a starting point as any.
"And then love." She clasped her hands together, smiling.
Wonyoung rolls her eyes.
Being the more sensible one she understood her friend's dilemma. Interacting with a stranger can be uncomfortable and awkward. However she did agree on the fact that if Olivia wanted to know more about the song and, consequently, the artist behind the music she would need to interact with him.
"He might be in the same room tomorrow. You could try."
Olivia initially shook her head. "I can't. I can't." She felt pressured all of sudden.
"Just try."
"Only try."The two pleaded with the older girl.
As if saved by the music gods, one of their favorite songs came on shuffle. The three get distracted with the song. Singing along dramatically. Not caring if they were in public.
"Who's got what it takes to be
My guy
What it takes to make
Me shine
What it takes to get
Me fired upWho's got what it takes to be
My beau
What it takes to make
Me glow
What it takes to make
This beat flow."The girls were chaotic but the good kind of chaotic. While others would feel uneasy by the stares received from those walking by, this group had no problem.
"Everyone talks about what they think they need
They make up a list of things: 1, 2, 3,
Everyone is different, but where we can agree
Is every girl wants her boy to treat her sweet."Dohyon happened to peer out the window only to catch sight of the three.
His eyes immediately went to the blonde girl. Olivia appeared to be singing with some dramatic flare. Holding her phone up to her mouth like a microphone.
He chuckled at her animated expressions.
She was kind of a goof but that just added to her appeal.
"I've been contemplating what it takes to make me give my heart
Could you be the one standing in the crowd?
I'm waiting to find out."Olivia's mind wandered to the song she heard earlier. More precisely, the boy behind it and what her friends had said.
"I'm going to try," she says definitively once the song is over.
Yujin and Wonyoung both nod their heads happily, knowing exactly what she meant.
