I woke up due to the sound of a ruler banging against my desk. I looked up through the crack between my arm and hood to see my teacher standing by my desk, holding a ruler towards me.
I sighed, pushed my glasses up and pulled my hood down. I looked down to the test I don't remember taking and saw a puddle on it.
"Great." I tried to wipe it away, which made it smear a bit, along with the heavily shaded bubbles on the paper.
"And that's what happens when you stay up all night, huh?" I heard a voice next to me. I looked over to see Logan reading a novel of some sort.
"I was studying, okay?" I mumbled, still asleep. Logan chuckled.
"You shouldn't do that. Grades are important, but your health and sleep schedule is even more important. This test won't matter in 5 years. We're almost done with school, just 2 more years. Then you can wait a little for college, which I hope isn't half as hard as 10th grade." He said, still reading his book. I looked closer at the book cover. It looked like he wrapped paper over it and sloppily wrote something in cursive over it. I squinted my eyes to try and read it, which didn't help a lot.
Then, the teacher snuck up behind Logan. He examined what he was reading.
"What are you reading? You're not even supposed to be reading, your test is still out!" The teacher snatched the book from his hands and tore off the paper to reveal the cover of the book. I, with my terrible vision, couldn't see the title of it, but I recognized the monotonous picture of a loose necktie on the cover. I tried to hold back my snickering.
I turned over to look at Logan, who was turning redder every second.
I tried to finish my test as quick as I could, guessing on some. I tried to get up, but something caught onto my sleeve. I turned to look at Logan who, poor him, was still red in the face.
"Could you turn my paper in?" He handed me his paper. I wanted to ask why, but I didn't want to seem nosy. I took his paper and walked up to the teacher's desk. He snatched the papers from me and examined them.
"You and Logan have detention. See you two after class, I have detention duty." And right after he said that the bell rang. The other kids stood up and ran towards the teacher, giving them their papers and heading out the door. I froze in the middle of the herd of students. Some even pushed me around.
I walked towards Logan, who was still sitting in his seat. He pretended to read a book which looked different from the one he was reading earlier.
"Dude, we have detention." I sighed, wiggling his arm. He seemed surprise.
"Wait wha-" He looked up at me, revealing his still red face. I chuckled.
"Yup, come on." He grabbed his bag and stood up, holding it in front of him. Weird behaviour coming from him, but I shrugged it off.
We walked together to the detention room. The halls were surprisingly empty, with the occasional group of students or teachers walking to wherever.
ok im too lazy to finish this i might do a part 2
