|Tristan's POV|
I woke up in the morning by the sound of my alarm being ticked off. I quickly shut it off and started getting ready for school. I got into my uniform and grabbed all of my books to bring with me. I walked out of my room and my mom had been reading a book while drinking her daily cup of coffee in the kitchen.
"Good morning." I said walking in quietly to the kitchen.
"Hey honey, you want me to make you something to eat before I take you to school."
"It's fine mom, Callie is bringing me dunks this morning."
"Alright then let's go." She grabbed her car keys and we were out the door. She parked in front of the school and I walked into the school.
"There you are!" Said Callie holding my iced coffee and donut in her hands.
"Ahhh! You're the best. Are you ready for today though?" I said grabbing my breakfast and walking down the hall with her.
"I think I am, but I'm scared as to who we get."
"Yea me too. No one likes me at this school. So this should be interesting." As we were walking Nick and his group walked passed us and right behind him was Melody and her cheerleading group. Melody is THE most famous girl of the school. She walked passed and she bumped into Callie. She looked at Callie and gave her a stank eye. Callie just rolled her eyes and kept on walking. We went to our first three classes and then an announcement came on.
"Will the students participating in the Big Brother Program please report to the auditorium, thank you." I quietly got up from my seat and walked to the auditorium. Callie had already been there, so I took the seat right next to her. You could tell she was scared to see what was bound to happen now. Nick and his group were all sitting two rows behind us and Melody and her group were sitting right behind us. The principal and several of the guidance counselors were up in the stage discussing exactly what is the Big Brother Program. After they were done discussing, they went straight into what the partners were. They started the mentee up first, then their mentors. It felt so anxious but such a relief, when your name hadn't been called. All of a sudden, "Callie Griffin." Her eyes widened and she slowly got up and stood up at the stage."Melody Foster." Melody got up with her hands crossed around her arms and was kinda stomping a bit. They stood next to each other and were distant from each other, but made it seem like they were so excited to be with each other, even though they weren't. They both came off the stage and Callie did not look happy at all that she was partnered up with. Now it was only left to me. They called several more kids and in an instant, "Tristan Parker." I got up from my chair and Callie gave me the good luck stare as I walked away from where we were sitting. I stood up at the stage and everyone's attention was on me. It was a little intimidating. Then they called my mentor. Nick Mara. He got up and walked up to the stage. I looked at Callie and she was in shock. When he got up there he stood right next to me, with a big grin on his face. They told us we were all set and that we could take our seats. We sat back down and Callie and I just sat there in shock. How is it possible that we got the two most famous people from school. When they had finally finished up, they let us back out to our classes. We were there for most of the day, so we only had two more classes left. I went to my last period class and sat down in my normal seat. I arrived to class a little early, so I decided to text Callie and see if she wanted to go after school and study.I put my phone away and everyone started coming in. Nick walked into class with his group of friends and of course, took his regular seat which was right next to me. The bell had rung and the teacher began her lecture. While the teacher was teacher, someone kept staring at me, and from the corner of my eye, I could tell it was Nick. I quickly looked at him and when he noticed I was looking at him, he looked away, trying to act as if he wasn't looking at me. The teacher finished her lecture and left us to do the classwork. As I was working on my work, I noticed someone put a note on my desk. I picked it up and little by little, I started opening it. When it was finally opened, it said:
Meet me in the parking lot of the school.
~Nick
I looked up at him and he acted as if he didn't put anything on my desk. I laughed a bit at the way he had been acting after he put the note on my desk. The class ended shortly after and I started walking out to where I was instructed to go to. He walked away with all of buddies to who knows where. I texted my mom letting her know that I was gonna be home a little later than usual today. I showed up to the parking lot and sat on one of the car stoppers. I started scrolling through my phone, thinking I would be there for long. But then, a car randomly pulled up right in front of me and their window rolled down. It was Nick.
"Come on, let's go." He said. I was almost too scared to even get up and go, but I did it. I put my book-bag in the backseat and sat upfront with him. He started driving and it was dead silent the whole entire time. He finally broke the silence when he had said, "You know, I'm really glad to have gotten you as a mentee."
"Really? Why? No one even likes me here."
"Well you seemed unique in your own little way. And plus all of these kids here were expecting to get me and it looked like you weren't at all."
"No not really. Like I said, no one likes me here."
"Well yea, because they think they're better than you. Just because you don't have the same things as they do, doesn't mean that you're less than them."
"Yea I guess you got a point there." I said looking up at him and smiling. For some reason, I felt safe being with Nick, like he didn't want to hurt me in any type of way. At last we finally got to our destination.
