It was no lie that it was a Christmas tradition for the Mays to go Christmas shopping. It had been that way since Brian was little. It had been that way when he met you. It had been that way when you were married and it still continued to be that way with you and Brian's children; the next generation of the May family.

Frederick Roger May, the eldest of your three children at six years of age, and by far the loudest - a joke with the boys was that he was taking after his namesakes and that he was born a natural performer. He was always the first of your children to wake up, and this morning was no different, especially since today was Christmas Eve.

"Mummy! Daddy! Get up! Get up! It's Christmas Eve!" Fred jumped on top of you and Brian, waking you out of your sleep and managing to perfectly smack Brian in the middle of the forehead, waking him up with a sharp jolt.

"Freddie, you need to be careful, darling! You've just smacked Daddy in the face!" You gently reprimanded your son. Brian sat up beside you and welcomed the boy into his lap as he hugged his father. With his family, Brian offered a closeness and gentleness what made your heart swell every time you saw it in action.

"I'm sorry, Daddy!" Freddie cried out and stretched himself across your and Brian's lap. Brian put his arm around your waist as you rested your head on his shoulder.

"Mummy, are we going shopping today?" Fred queried after a few seconds.

"What makes you ask that, son?" Brian chipped in, briefly making eye contact with you and flashing you a quick grin, that even after eight years of marriage made your heart skip a beat.

"Well, we do it every year... don't we?" Freddie looked up at you both with large hazel eyes that could make your heart melt - another thing in common with his father.

"Well, this year's no different, darling, we're going out for lunch with Uncle John and Aunt Ronnie and their children and then we'll go shopping afterwards." You watched the words come from Brian's mouth, ending with his lips curling up in a joyous grin.

"Really?" Freddie's eyes lit up, glancing over at you.

"Well not until those two sisters of yours are awake." You chuckled at his enthusiasm as he muttered words of agreement and dashed out of the room, leaving you and Brian alone.

"I swear, love, that child is the double of you!" You spoke to Brian.

"I can see the resemblance, though he's got the Deacon hair."

"Just the colour, Bri, he's still got your curly locks." You settled down with your head on his chest. You both lay there for a while taking in the sounds of your children laughing and giggling from one of the bedrooms.

"Darling, we make such beautiful children." Brian reached over to the bedside dresser and took a photo of your little family and held it in the light for you both to look at.

"They're wonderful children, aren't they?" You giggled.

"I suspect it may because they have the beauty that is (y/n) May as their mother." He gently kissed the top of your head and ran his fingers through your hair.

"Are you sure you don't just want a quick shag?" You swatted his chest and got out of bed, beginning to get dressed.

"Cheeky..." Brian followed you and pulled out a pair of boxers and a crisp white shirt.
