Heey there. Say hello to the newly admitted student of Alfred University!
Yeah! I did it! I got into AU. I'm so freaking happy. The nervousness I felt before opening the email from AU was out of this world. I was literally shaking. Now I know I won't stay home jobless for one year. Thanks to my dad. I love you daddy!
Our resumption date is one month away. Its fast but what else can you expect from a private uni. Dunni's school, like most federal universities had resumed already.
I'm packing. Oh Lord I'm packing. I'm literally packing our whole house in preparation for resumption. I'm packing things that I'm not even sure I'll need. I've gone clothes and food shopping with my mom and I'm grateful my parents are taking me to school because I don't know how I'll cope on my own with all what I've packed to start my new life has a university student.

It's resumption day! My parents dropped me off in front of my hostel and helped me carry some of my stuffs to my room. I'm going to miss them big time. I seriously felt like crying when I hugged them goodbye. I could also tell from the expressions flitting across their faces that they would also miss me. After all I'm currently their only child. (whispers: I think my mom is pregnant. Don't tell anyone I told you.) Well they're gone now and a new chapter of my life,begins.
I'm alone in my hostel room right now because my roommate has not arrived. Thank goodness we'll only be two in a room. I don't think I can take living with about four or more people after having a room to myself my whole life. I just hope my roommate and I will get on fine.
"Hello." I heard someone say.
I didn't even notice when the door was opened, I was lost day dreaming about my new life.
"Hello." I said back with a smile.
" I'm Teni, your roommate I guess, since this is room 209."
"Oh hi, yes this is room 209. I'm Tomi, nice to meet you." I said to her grinning.
OK my new roommate is beautiful. No homo.
"Cool, I decided to look for the room first before bringing my stuff in, I'll go bring them in now."
"Yea that's okay, let's go together, I'll help."
We both left the room to go outside and carry her bags in. The hostel is currently bubbling with activity as there is movement everywhere. People carrying bags in and people going out to carry more bags. Those helping people to carry their bags for a price are also having a field day.
"You know its cool that both our names start with letter T." I said to Teni.
"I know right, I was also thinking the same." She told me smiling.
We got outside the hostel and the whole place is filled with different types of vehicles. Ranging from small cars to buses and trucks. Teni led me to where her dad's car is. Both her dad and mom were patiently waiting for her.
"Mummy, daddy, this is Tomi,my roommate." Teni introduced me.
"Good afternoon ma, good afternoon sir." I greeted them both, slightly kneeling.
"Good afternoon my dear, how are you?" Teni's mom answered.
"I'm fine ma."
"Afternoon jare omo mi. Well done." Her dad said.
"Thank you sir."
"OK let's carry the bags." Teni said.
We proceeded to offload the bags from the car before carrying them in. Teni's parents left shortly after and it was just Teni and I alone in the room. Both of us were wondering how we would begin to unpack.
"I don't even know where to start from." I said to Teni.
"I swear, me to o. I don't know why I packed so much stuff sef." She replied.
"I know right." I said laughing.
We eventually started from somewhere and proceeded to unpack whilst gisting each other about our lives.
I'm finally a university student yaaaay.
