When the Sky lost its Light

I've been always looking forward in doing camping every school year. We always go the forests and enjoy the nature there. I'm not a big fan of nature, but sleeping in the woods for a week is better than doing school activities. Every year, our school does camping outside the campus, we always go to the same forest, the Hayle forest near our school. It's somewhere south of our school, not really that far, so the travel time is not too long. Probably about 2 or 3 hours to get there, so the bus ride is kinda short. I've been visiting the forest for almost 5 years, that's since my first year in the school. When you reach middle school, our school does yearly camping, that ends till high school. So meaning, this is my last camping, I'll be in college soon.

Journal #78

Today is the day, the last camping that I'll ever experience. This is the last time I'll be visiting Hayle forest. I will miss that place, for 6 years I've been in there, I already memorized the paths there hahaha.

It's 6:42 A.M., I'll be leaving soon. Preparations are complete, all's that left is the school bus.

The school bus will go directly to the forest, sadly I won't be able to go to the campus and say bye to my mother.

-Journal end.-

The school bus arrived, so I need to leave the house already. I brought my journal book with me. I never took account of my days in camping back then, but since this will be my last year, maybe I'll record every night of the camping.

I hopped in the school bus, sat beside my best friends, Jonathan, and Ley.

"You ready?" Said by Ley

"Yeah, final camping."

"I'll miss camping" said by Jonathan

We got nothing much to talk about, so, I plugged in my earphones and listened to the music. I was not long till I fall asleep.

Ley woke me up, telling me that we're on the forest already. I got surprised it was that fast, it felt like a blink and then we got there already.

"How long was the travel?" I asked

"About 3 hours" said by Jonathan

"Wow, that's so long"

"Not for you, you were fast asleep"

"Why did it take too long anyways?"

"Traffic, there is a sudden traffic."

We all go off the bus, then we started head counting.

"Wait, who's absent?" Asked by our adviser

"Nicole" shouted by one of our classmate

"So we are only 40 huh? I asked to Ley

"Yeah, its sad that Nicole is not here, her mom said she's sick."

"Too bad"

We trekked our way to the campsite, its far to be honest. Maybe about 30 mins walking, that far. Same road, same trees, everything is the same, it feels nice to be back here. The 3 of us are right behind the crowd, we intentionally left ourselves behind so we can walk slow and feel the breeze.

We are talking to each other, you know, we look at each other, laugh, pin point things, and everything, normal type of bonding.

Till we realize, we are really behind.

They're gone.
How fast are they walking anyways?

We freaked out for a second, but we realized that the path is the same, so we walked and walked.
