Your life abruptly and dramatically changed when you came across a remarkable discovery that would have by no doubt been a discovery of the century. However, it wasn't and it wouldn't be as you chose to kept that discovery a secret for various reasons.

Had you announced it to the authorities it would have eventually caused conflict between nations and individuals alike. That wasn't the reason that contributed the most to the secrecy.

What did was your selfishness and greed after you realised that not only was the diamond you came across very rare and extravagant, additionally it gave off an affluence that attracted you to its other attribute.

And that attribute you discovered a while later after you secretly took the gemstone home without making anyone aware of its existence. It's power was known only by you and its former welders who were long dead.

Many archaeologists and researchers suspected that it would exist from old scriptures but its existence was proven by you, an archaeologist who had been out on her first excavation.

Ever since you couldn't let the diamond out of your sight, and you developed an obsession with it. You had it embedded into a necklace and wore it around your neck at all times so you would never lose sight of it.

You had it with you on this day while you walked down the streets carrying some grocery bags in your hands. You had an urgent sense to make your lover happy by cooking his favourite dish for him. The thought of seeing him ecstatic and smiling in appreciation made your heart race, which in turn made you hurry down the streets.

Eventually you came to a stop at the red light, and, as always, you were cautious about the people who gathered around you to wait for the green light so they could cross. You did anticipate that someone would try to steal the necklace from you, but what you didn't was that it would float away from your neck on its own.

When the chain of the necklace broke you unconsciously dropped the bags and ran towards the gemstone. Luckily the green lights had, however no one moved as they wondered why you left your items behind and were hurriedly run down the crosswalk.

They couldn't see what you could, and that was an outstretched hand pulling the necklace away from you. Ever since you found the diamond your were eyes were opened to the preternatural, but a limited variety.

You soon discovered that you could also perceive Stands when you followed the arm into an alleyway to see that it was a ghostly figure that emerged from the back of one of the two people standing at the dead end up ahead.

You quickly hid behind a dumpster before the two noticed you were around, peeking over the top to observe what them. You could feel your frustration begin to build up inside of you. You couldn't let the diamond fall into someone else's hands.

"... and, I want a present for my birthday. Maybe a ring. Or a necklace," you heard one of the two, a female, speaking. Her back was up against the wall and the other figure had trapped her between his body and the wall. He had his face buried in the side of her neck as he violently kissed it.

It appeared to have been only two horny teenagers who couldn't find a better place for their risqué rendezvous.

There wasn't that huge a gap between your age and theirs, as you were only an eighteen year old novice hence your lack of surprise when the male's hand traveled up her thigh and into the skirt of her school uniform.

All you cared for was your necklace. The first and last time you kept it off your person the changes you had created to your life started to revert back to normal. That being that the people who had been under your control regained their self control and will.
