I slumped down on the couch in the living room. "Hey, honey. How was school?" My mom asked as she entered the living room.

"It was ok I guess." No it wasn't. I thought to myself. Today had been the worst. I caught my boyfriend with another girl.

My phone let out a short ding. I looked down and saw I had a text message. Speaking of the devil..it was my boyfriend, Tanner Collins.

Tanner: Hey I'm sorry you saw that..

I rolled my eyes. Lies. Lies.

Me: Yeah right! Here you were telling me how important I was to you and you hooked up with someone!

Tanner: Look, I can explain. She started it.

Me: Then you could've pushed her off. Look Tanner, we're over.

And that was it. I'm done with Tanner. He can find someone else.

I slammed my phone down on the couch. "Well someone isn't too happy." My mom said with a sly smile. "Oh please." I mumbled.

"How are you and Tanner?" Well that's just great..she had to bring his name up. I squinted my eyes at my mom. "Him and I are over." I felt a few tears and rushed upstairs to my room.

I layed down on my bed and felt the tears coming. My phone viberated. It was Tanner.

Tanner: She's my mate.

Oh.

Well, that kind've makes sense. But no. He could've told me he found his mate instead of deciding to eat her face out in the hallway.

I let out a groan.

Tomorrow is my 16th Birthday. What if I don't find my mate, or even worse, he rejects me? I couldn't get this off my mind. Tomorrow is when I start looking for my mate.

I picked up my phone and decided to text text my best friend Tess.

Me: Hey Tess. Can you come over?

I knew I wouldn't need to wait for a reply, as Tess read the IM and is now on her way.

Not even 5 minutes later, Tess showed up at the front door. "I brought Ice Cream and Magazines to gossip about guys!" She squealed.
