A New Beginning

Natalie could no longer take the tension at home so she decided to run away. She took all the money she had saved up. She went to a bus station bought a one way ticket on the first bus that was leaving within a half an hour. She was so nervous and scared because she had no idea where she was going or what would happen to her. The bus had been travelling for about an hour when Natalie looked at the ticket to see where she was headed. She found herself headed to a place called George.  

The bus finally reached its destination. Natalie began to walk around the town when she saw a Cafe / coffee shop so she went in and ordered something to eat and drink after she ate and paid she asked the waitress, if she could speak to the manager. The waitress looked worried thinking that something was wrong, so she asked if there was a problem so Natalie reassured her that there wasn't a problem. "I am actually looking for a job and was wondering if there was a vacancy available". The waitress smiled and told me that she would go and get the manager.

When the manager came out my  stomach did a flip, I felt light headed. He was so handsome. I knew if I wanted to get the job I had to pull myself together. I introduced myself, and he introduced himself he  then asked me a few question.

Jermaine that's his name felt a strong connection with her. He didn’t know what it was but all he knew was that there was so much pain in her eyes that he felt her sorry. He saw something in her so he hired her.

He showed her around the place and then gave her a uniform. Since she said she will start immediately, he left her to change and when she came out he showed her what to do and told her to ask Jenny the other waitress if she needed any help or if she had any question he would be in his office. 

The day went by quite well, I felt a bit better. When we were closing for the night it hit me hard where was I going to go I forgot that I have no where to go. While Jamaine was locking up he saw me standing by the stop street, he came over an offered me a lift. "Thanks but I'll be alright" I said. "Natalie I would feel much better if you would just let me drop you off I can’t just leave you here it is late and not that safe". I began to cry.

Hey sorry I didn't mean to offend you. "No thats not it I I... I and I started crying  some more". Jamaine pull me into his arms to comfort me. The minute he touched me I felt a shock go straight to my heart. Once I calmed down "I began to tell him that I ran away from home and that I have no place to stay". Jamaine tells her that he has a spare bedroom and that she could use.
"How much rent do you want for the room?", I asked. Jermaine could see that Natalie was a person who would not take handouts. Even though he does not need the money he didn't want to make her feel bad. "Why don’t you first see the place and then you can decide how much rent you want to pay for the room?"

As he showed her around the place and showed her the spare bedroom her face lit up. She told how much she is willing to pay and that since she can’t afford more she will help with the cleaning and helps with the cooking. He told her that she can get settled while he go and make something to eat. So when the food was ready he called her and then they sat down and they began to talk about this and that. He never pressured her into talking about what happened to her she told him that she was very tired so they cleaned up together and she kissed him on the cheek said thank you for everything and she went to bed. 

The next day went by so fast for the first time I felt like I was a live so as I  and Jermaine drove home I could not stop talking about how much tips I got and how nice the people are. When we got to the apartment, since we both ate at the dinner Jamaine asked, "if I would like to watch a movie?". I was game and since there was an option between a chick flick and action sci-fi movie. Jermaine was so sure she would pick the chick flick that he was shocked when she chose the other movie. I saw his reaction so I asked him, "can’t a girl like action?", he just smiled and said no he was just surprised that's all so they watched the movie. He was fascinated by Natalie.
