Teenage Queen

Chapter 1

The sun slowly rises, making the sky paint of colorful colors and hiding the dark shades of the night. Every angle of Perth, a small town in Scotland, seams to wake up from a long sleep.

Small rays of sunlight enter through the window of my bedroom and enters in my bloodstream waking me up. I lift up my wool blanket feeling the chill of the early morning. I lift my head up from the straw and wait for my alarm to go off. From the window a little bird flies inside my room and gives me the wake up call. "Thanks Curry" I say and lend my hand out to call him. He flies happily towards me and sings.

I must present myself. I'm Bella, I'm 15 and I live in a small poor house with my family. I feel very lucky because my mum my dad and I work for the Smith's, a very rich family known in the whole town who are very friends with the queen and king. I would kill to be in their place! Especially in Caroline's one because she's the daughter of this rich family and she's one of Queen Mary's ladies! She's so lucky! But I shouldn't be saying this at all! I'm just lucky to be living in normal conditions although given the fact that I'm not rich. But I can't hide the fact that my dream is to live in a castle and to marry a king. It would be a dream to live in luxury like a queen. But it would be also impossible.

I get dressed in my usual ripped dress. And go outside to the fountains to the get the water to give to the Smith's. As much as I'd love to be in their place I hate them. They're so rude and treat us like slaves. Well, we kind of are their servants but still! This is also the reason why I won't marry a King! He would be so rude to me snd the closest I could get to him is by being his mistress. But I don't deserve this role!

I knock at the Smith's door and wait for their response. Caroline appears in the front door. Great! I didn't miss her at all! "You're late! I have to get to the King on time and if you poor people make me look like a fool in front of him..." she says and tries to control herself because she knows that she needs to get by without us. " I'm sorry Ms Smith" I say trying to not shout at her as much as I wanted to. Suddenly from behind her, her mother appears. "Good morning Bella I have good news for you and your family" she says. A second later my mum and dad appear behind me carrying buckets of water. "Here you are, come inside" and she closes the door behind us.
