Chapter 5
Taurs
"We don't mean any trouble," said Teel hopping in front of Taurs, "Just passing through."
"You took fish from my part of the river, so take something from you!" he growled licking his lips toward Amicus.
"Amicus, Taurs," Teel said calmly, "RUN!" They shot out back the way they came. Taurs was running right next to Teel, Amicus falling behind.
"Run Amicus, run!" Teel shouted as loud as she could. The big bear was right on Amicus' heels.
"Keep running and don't look back!" Teel shouted to Taurs.
"But mom!" Taurs yelled back to his mom as she fell behind.
"Keep running!" she yelled. Taurs ran for his life.
Taurs kept running and running and running. Until he fell. He tripped into some bushes. It was dark and silent around him. He laid there for a while. He was expecting his mom and brother to just pop up out of nowhere, everything to go back to normal. They never came back. He laid there for a long time, limp from all of the running. He must've fallen asleep because he opened his eyes and it was light out. He peeked over the bushes. He hoped it was all a dream. He looked toward the river next to him, no one was there.
Tears suddenly started to come out of Taurs' eyes. He'd lost his mom and brother. He knew he should've fought with his mom. Taurs shook himself and tried to toughen up. He didn't know they were dead. They could possibly be alive and think he was dead.
"Yah!" Taurs yelled to himself. He had decided. It was now his mission to find his family. Taurs set out the way he ran from. He stopped in his tracks. He couldn't go that way. Maybe the bear was still there waiting for him. So, Taurs decided to go through the thick forest next to him to search for his mom and brother.
