I plaited my hair into Dutch braids and did some natural makeup. I walked into my kitchen and grabbed an apple. I took a bite out of it and scrolled through Instagram. Bite after bite. Leaning against my kitchen counter. I connected my phone to my speakers and played some yungblub. I sang along and danced around. I wa shaving so much fun I didn't hear my front door open. "WATCH ME TAKE A GOOD THING AND FUCK IT ALL UP IN ONE NIGHT!" I sang along. Well yelled along. I heard some giggles from behind me. I turned to see Tara, Devyn, Kat, Xepher and Cassie. I paused my music and smiled. "Well hello." I smiled. "Colby said that you won't need coffee today." Devyn laughed. "I'm hyped for no reason." I said punching the air. "Teenagers." Cassie laughed. "Oh shush she's 19 tomorrow." Tara smiled. "Oh for the love of Satan my dad is calling me." I sighed. I answered.
"Hey Keira I wasn't sure if you were gonna pick up" "I wasn't sure either" "Don't be sarcastic with me please." "Have you even visited her grave?" I asked. I heard him sigh. "I just wanted to know if you were coming here for your birthday." "I'm not sure Colby is but I have nobody in Kansas left." "You have me and your um stepmother." "MY WHAT?!" "I remarried and you have two step siblings." "I can't believe you." I said. I hung up and I slammed my phone down on the counter.
I closed my eyes and gained control of my breathing. I opened my eyes to see a confused group of friends. I smiled. "He remarried after everything." I said. "He remarried." I repeated. "You all right?" Xepher asked. "I need Colby imma be back in a sec." I smiled slightly. I walked into Colby's.
"I have to go to Kansas for Christmas and spend it with him." I sighed sitting on his couch. "Just him?" Colby asked sitting next to me. "No." I sighed. "Remarried?" Colby asked. I nodded. "It'll be fine." He said placing a kiss on my temple.
