He's Acting Weird

 It was the first day of A-Con. We were all dressed and ready to go. Aphmau couldn't find her cosplay outfit so Lucinda told us to go ahead and she would help Aphmau. A small group of us left and a small group stayed. I was part of the group that left. We walked to the building it was being held in and we all split up.

   ' This is fun! '

I walked around until I saw Travis.

   ' I'll stay with him since I can't find anyone else. '

   " Travis! "

He looked towards me and smiled, but it wasn't his usual smile. This one looked nervous. I walked up to Travis and stood by him.

   " Hey, Travis what are you doing? "

   " Nothing much. You? "

   " I was just wandering around and I saw you. If you don't mind I'm going to stay with you until the others get here. "

   " Do I have a choice? "

  " Not really. "

   " Alright, well, let's walk around. "

We did walk around but I could tell Travis wasn't okay.

   " Travis are you okay? "

   " Yes. Why do you ask? "

   " You're just acting weird. Where's the regular Travis? The one who likes talking to me and has weird pick up lines? "

   " He's here. "

   " I'm sure. If you won't tell me what's up I'm going to just go. "

   " I can't say. "

   " Alright then. "

I walked away from Travis and further away from all the booths and cosplayers. When I reached the front doors I saw the other group walk in. Katlyn walked up to me looking worried.

   " Are you okay? "

   " Travis. "

   " Again? That little weasel. Come on stay with us and we won't talk about Travis. "

   " Okay. Thanks. "

   " Anything for a friend. "

I stayed with Katelyn the whole time as we walked around A-Con. I didn't see Travis at all which made me feel relieved and a little bad.

   ' Maybe it was something personal. '

We finished walking around and looked at the time. We grabbed food from one of the booths and left A-Con. When we got back to the hotel I changed into some more comfortable clothes and sat on the couch. I sat there for a while until I felt my phone vibrate.

Travis: Come to the roof of the hotel, please

   ' Why? '

I messaged him and asked him why but I never got a reply. I stood up from the couch and grabbed my shoes and slipped them on. I left the hotel room and got in the elevator. I took it to the highest floor and then took the stairway up to the roof. When I opened the door to the roof I saw Travis sitting down and looking at the stars.

   " Why did you need me? "

He turned towards me and smiled. He stood up and grabbed my hand. He pulled me out of the doorway and further onto the roof. I blushed from our interlocked hands. When he stopped walking he turned to face me and his green eyes illuminated themselves in the moonlight.

   " Travis, what do you need? "

   " Y/n I-I-I want to tell you s-something important. "

   " Okay. "

He took a deep breath and then grabbed both of my hands. He slipped F/c rose into my hands and stared at me straight in the eyes. His focus didn't waver.

   " Y/n I love you. "

Those words hit me like a truck. My face became red and I felt my heart pound a little bit.

   " I've loved you for a long time and I know I gave you mixed signals because of the whole Katelyn thing, but I'm sure now. I love you and not her. "

   " T-Travis. "

   " Y/n will you be my girlfriend? "

   " U-Umm. "

   ' What the heck. '

   " Sure. "

When I tell you the sun shined it did. His face lit up in a spark of happiness. He picked me up and twirled me around. I held onto him because we were on the roof. When he finally put me down he pulled me closer and kissed me. It took me a second to register what was happening and I kissed him back. The kiss was sweet and soft. It didn't last long but when we pulled away we embraced each other.

   " Vylad said he already approved of it by the way? "

   " Wait what? "

   " Yeah, he came to me and was about to kill me but Lucinda stopped him. I told him my plan and he approved as long as I didn't hurt you. "

   " Vylad that little turtle. "

I smiled and hugged Travis closer. He did the same. Eventually, it got cold and we walked down the long stairs to our floor. We said goodnight to each other and walked to our separate rooms. I held the de-thorned rose close to me as I laid in bed. I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. I fell asleep not knowing what tomorrow would bring.
