I had gotten off the phone with my mother. My children are okay. As for Tara Dey, she was pronounced dead at the scene. I grab the last print and hang it up. Not many others was at the office, me being one of the few. This gave me time to think alone about what had just happened. Of course, Fox News was down at the hospital talking about what had happened. I bite my lip to focus on what I was seeing. I noticed a man mysteriously standing in front with all the children in photos a few back. As the more prints came out, he seemed inpatient and began to pace. When Tara got out the car and headed over to that direction. I seen him step back, he was talking on the phone. Then I see her smiling as she hugs a young boy. The next clip I could see the man holding up a gun inside the crowd of people with his arm out. A gun. It hit her. She fell. People scattered. He scattered. He ran behind a series of vehicles.
I decide to call the police and tell them what I found. They said they would be right over. I grab all the pictures and my camera and make my way home where the police would meet me.
When I got there, I saved the photos onto my computer. I don't know why or what I was going to do with them. Then I grabbed my self a cup of hot dark chocolate and waited for the police. The pictures were neatly put in a binder with a covering on top so when they got there, it was easily accessible.
While I waited I started to watch different news outlet to see what they were saying. She was going to win the race if she had not died. This was a war against women many said and from what I've seen, I couldn't agree more with them.
The door finally rang. I jump up from the television and hurry over. Two men stood at the door, I gave them the binder they take it and ask to come in.
I open the door and let them in. I apologize about the mess, I had just moved in this house a few weeks prior so many stuff were scattered all over the place and put in boxes.
"I'm officer John and this is officer Mike."
"Could you tell us what you seen?"
"Sir, all I could tell you is what those pictures will tell you. I hadn't noticed anything at the time or I would have said something earlier. It was not until I printed these out that I noticed the man who done it."
"Did you take these pictures on your camera?" ask one of the men who had a deeper voice.
"On my camera sir," I say crossing over picking it up.
"We will need to confiscate this if that will be alright with you."
"No, go ahead."
"Did you take any pictures on your phone?"
"No sir," I state.
The men both looked at each other before asking for it. I nod going to the kitchen and grabbing it, "do you gentlemen need anything to drink?"
"No ma'am, but thank you," officer Mike says as he reaches out for my phone.
"Did you tell anyone about what you saw?"
"No, I only called the police right away. If my boss finds out about this I may just get fired for not informing them but I wanted to keep the privacy for her family's sake."
The men looked around as Mike shoved my phone in his pocket.
"What are you doing with my phone? You can look on there and see that there's no pictures of the parade."
They both looked at each other and told me that it would be safe for me.
"What do you mean?"
"Everyone knows ever since Clinton lost the election that there can never be a women as president," John spoke. "If we let a women become president, the pretty sure a gay man, and then a Latino, and then-"
"Excuse me. If anyone knows what their doing and is trying to do the best for other people then they should have the opportunity to be president!"
"Mike, I think it's time we go."
"Give me back my phone!"
"If you know what's good for you, you would remain quiet."
"I know what's good for me and I know I'm never going to let a man tell me otherwise!"
He grabs me pushing me against the counter putting his hands in my hair. I feel his hot air on my neck and begin to become stiff. I hope my mother and children do not enter to see this.
"Stop!"
"Do we have an understanding?"
I nod as he lets go of my gasp.
"You won't say anything."
"I won't say anything."
"If you do, we'll know where to find you."
John looked over me which gave me a deep feeling of dread.
"Get out!" I screamed and the two policemen left.
