It was a calm and quiet evening in the city of Yokohama. You were on your way back to your apartment after making a quick trip to the convenience store to pick up some thing. Groceries in hand, you hummed to yourself peacefully as you took in the the beautiful night scenery and lively people who had just gotten off from work, probably heading to a bar with their coworkers.

Perhaps you shouldn't have been walking by yourself late at night, but you didn't envy the fool who had the guts to try and rob you. You weren't much of a fighter, but being a (former) member of the Special Ability Department you knew judo and aikido, so a lowly thug was no match for you. You thought about this as if it were so long ago when it was just this morning when you handed in your letter of resignation. The work was absolutely grueling and you just couldn't tolerate it anymore. Every time an evildoer was caught or a murderous plot foiled, the same thing would just happen again and again. As long as there were people out there with wicked hearts you thought, the world would never be peaceful. So what was the point? As you were musing over your recent career decision, you were alerted to the subtle sound of footsteps behind you.

"Ugh." You grumbled to yourself, why now?

It had been a nice day so far and you didn't feel like fighting, so you decided to try shaking off your pursuer first instead. Careful not to bump into anyone, you kicked it into high gear and ran at a brisk pace, making sure to turn through several corners and alleyways to have a better chance at losing them. After about ten minutes you stopped at a dead end, and you could still hear someone following after you.

*Sigh* "Well, at least there aren't any civilians here to get in the way." You said to yourself as you dropped your groceries and waited for this uninvited guest to show themselves.

A few seconds later, a man of about average height clad in black appeared at the other end of the alleyway. You had no idea who he was, since his face was covered by a ski mask, but your eyes immediately darted to the short sword he was holding.

"Are you (f/n) (l/n)?" queried your pursuer in a low, threatening voice.

Alarm bells ringing in your head, you began to reach for the deringer you keep holstered to your ankle for emergencies, but the man vanished before you could position your weapon. You immediately felt a presence behind you that wasn't there before, followed by a sharp pain. It was like fire radiating from your back up to your shoulder blade. You scrunched your face in pain as blood began to trickle down from the open wound, seeping through your clothes as you came tumbling down from the impact, your deringer landing just a few feet in front of you.

"...It hurts." you thought to yourself as you scrambled to your feet, placing a hand over the area that had been slashed.

"Sorry about this, just die here quietly." your attacker stated calmly as he began to raise his sword for another strike. You knew you had to get away, but it was taking every ounce of your strength just to stand and the world around you began to spin from the blood loss. You winced, bracing yourself for the second strike, when you heard a gunshot instead. Your attacker came tumbling down on top of you, taking you with them. Through blurred vision, you could just make out a boot rolling your assailant off of you, and a man with striking violet eyes was sitting you up to examine where you had been slashed.

"You poor innocent, they exploit your talent for their own sense of justice and then betray you when you are no longer beneficial to them." murmured your presumed rescuer as he began basic first aid on you.

"What did he say?" You thought to yourself, still very delirious and very much in pain from your injury. You didn't have the strength to ask what was going on, and with the adrenaline having left your body, your eyes fluttered shut in exhaustion.

"Sweet dreams, my captive princess." The mystery man whispered while wearing a devious smirk. Satisfied with his handiwork, he began to carry you to his current residence.

3 days later, you awoke in an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar bed. Alarmed, you tried to sit up, only to hiss as a sharp pain pulsated throughout your body.

"Ah, you're finally awake. I would advise you not to make any sudden movements however, your wound could open up." hailed a voice from beside you. You turned your head to see a man with pale skin, dark hair, violet eyes, and.....an ushanka hat? A questionable choice of attire, you thought to yourself. Immediately it clicked, you knew who this man was. Somehow, you ended up in the lap of a serial murderer's territory - the Demon Dostoyevsky! You felt your blood run cold as you stared in horror at the merciless killer, smiling at you as if nothing was off.

"Well now, is that any way to look at the person who saved your life? Calm down, little mouse. I'm not going to eat you." Fyodor said in a velvety voice, grinning from ear to ear.

",,,,," It's true. You vaguely remember the details, but there was no mistaking those eyes. They were the same eyes you saw carefully tending to your wound in that alleyway. You were certain that this man, Fyodor, was the one who came to your rescue. His reasoning, however, was beyond you.

As if reading your mind, Fyodor spoke. "Perfect Memory. That ability of yours, to read anything just once and memorize it perfectly, I want to use it for my plan."

"Why should I—" you started, but Fyodor ignored you and continued speaking.

"I know all about you. You were the former assistant CIO for the Special Ability Department, until 3 days ago. Someone in your position must have accumulated boundless knowledge that would be problematic in the event of an information leak, enough so that they would send an assassin after you in the event you left. After all, they can remote wipe your PC, but not your mind."

Fyodor smirked. "I'd expect nothing less of the government."

"Did you think I would help you if you offered me revenge against the people who tried to kill me? Unbelievable." You sneered at the man in response.

"Of course not. Weren't you listening? I know all about you, including your soft hearted ideals for a peaceful world which prompted you to join such a deceitful organization to begin with."

Fyodor reached out towards you, his hand tracing the curvature of your face. Your eyes widened in surprise as he leaned in closer, until you could feel his breath against your lips. Seeing him up close, you were captivated by his beauty. His piercing gaze that appeared to see into your very soul made your heart race. You knew this man was dangerous, but you couldn't ignore the sparks of electricity where he touched you. It made you want more.

"I'm certain that I can grant your wish and, once you learn of the world I desire to create, you'll want to help me of your own accord." Fyodor murmured enticingly.

Just what had you gotten yourself into?
