Chapter TWO

What I see waiting for us at the gate is enough to make anyone lose their appetite for ages. The scene in front of us is so sickening to the point that even Kelly is speechless. The first one to break the silence is Kelly even though her voice is shaky.

  "Kat do you see what I see?" She asks nervously.

"Yeah I see the same thing." After I am able to tear my eyes away from the horrid scene in front of us I call the police.

"911 what's your emergency?"

"We need someone to come down here there are just clusters of bodies at the west gate."

"Ma'm do you see anyone who might have caused this?"

"No all I see are the bodies they seem like stage two and three CAD victims." I say trying to fight the nervousness creeping itself into my voice.

"Ma'm enforcement should be out there soon."

"Thank you." I say hanging up the phone.

When Kelly finally musters the strength to speak her voice is even shakier than before.

"Kat what is this?" She ask nearly in tears.

"Kel I have no idea."

"Kat I swear if you tell anyone I'm crying I will never talking to you again." Kell says while I think back to when me and Dani found our parents that fateful day.
  "Mya and Chris I want you to stay in the car while me and Dani go find mom and dad, ok?"
  "Yeah sure."
Dani and I move with an urgency in our step to find our parents.
  "Mom, dad where are you?" Dani ask while we slowly peer into the house afraid of what awaits us inside. We walk slowly into the kitchen where mom would usually be on a Sunday morning.

  "Kat what if..."

  "Dani don't say it." I say already knowing what happened.
After we look around the first floor we slowly make our way upstairs where we are basically slapped in the face with the strong odor of vomit and blood. I look at my sister with tears in both of our eyes already knowing what we're going to stumble upon. I slowly lead the way to our parents shared bedroom and gasp at the horrific sight in front of us.

I am snapped out of my thoughts by Kelly saying something.

  "Kat do you hear me, what's wrong?" She nearly shouts trying to get my attention.

  "Nothing I'm fine" I say wiping tears I never noticed were there.

  "Ok then, but anyways like I was saying I was thinking about getting back together with Cole and settling down for a while, What do you think?"

  "Yeah you should I mean he is a nice guy and everything and you two look great together."

  "Yeah you should come on a double date with his brother Ryan he says your cute." She says nudging my shoulder.

  "Wait I never met Ryan how does he know what I look like?"

  "Oh, um I showed him a picture of me and you, you know that one where we were at the beach."

Just as she said that the police showed up and knocked on my window.

  "Ma'm would you like to step out of the car so we can get your statement then you can be on your way."

  "Yeah ok" I say to the burly officer.

Kelly's P.O.V

While I'm talking to the officer I'm trying to focus on what he's saying but I keep thinkng about Cole and my best and only friend.

  "Ma'm would you like to answer some questions?" The officer says stepping towards me.

  "Yeah sure."

  "Would you like to describe what happened today?" He asked eyeing my chest like a pervert.

  "My eyes are up here officer prick." He looked shocked at my choice of words but dismissed them and started asking me more boring questions and I answered them in about five minutes we were done and I was in the car waiting for Kat to be done so we could go to work.
